SAIC is hiring a Security Systems Tester/Inspector III in Tampa, FL to support USSOCOM.
JOB DUTIES:
• Install, upgrade, maintain, troubleshoot issues, research cost and provide estimates for approval for the USSOCOM Security Management System (SMS).  This includes analyzing operational trends, recommending improvements, troubleshooting, and repairing issues with software, hardware, balanced magnetic switches (BMS), maglocks, card readers, cameras, motion sensors, barricades, turnstiles, and any other devices used as part of the SMS. The on-site technician reports all system discrepancies/violations to the USSOCOM Security Management Office (SMO).
• Cyber Security Tasking. The technician will assist the SMO’s PHYSEC Branch with insuring systems are protected and maintained in accordance to DoD cybersecurity instructions and policies that apply to the various ESS systems deployed.  The Technician will assist with providing IT support for the systems deployed, which could include but are not limited to administrating security updates and patches, troubleshooting IT hardware and equipment issues, cleaning and maintaining ID badge printers and monitoring the overall health of the systems in operation.
• Routine Testing.  The Technician will also assist the SMO’s PHYSEC Branch in routine testing of at least 25% of all SMS components annually.    The role of the technician is to ensure all devices are functioning properly.
• System Training.  The on-site technician will assist the PHYSEC Branch in educating end users and security managers on the necessary basic operational procedures for the SMS.  All USSOCOM Security policies and operator level technical handouts will be provided by the PHYSEC Branch and will be promoted by the technician. Technician will also provide basic computer and IT operation technical content review with regards to operating the various electronic security systems and video platforms deployed.
• Technician Administrative Rights.  The on-site Technician will be a user on the system and WILL NOT make changes to the system that are not approved by USSOCOM PHYSEC Branch.  This includes, but is not limited to granting access to cardholders or making changes to the system that permit unauthorized accesses to secured spaces or credentials.  The PHYSEC Branch is the ultimate authority to approve system modifications and granting access to the SMS.
• The on-site technician shall coordinate all work with the PHYSEC Branch and NSWC Crane if further guidance is necessary for the technician.  This includes monitoring and maintaining all computer systems, network equipment, and supporting equipment to ensure the SMS remains operational at all times.  PHYSEC Branch will primarily provide timely technical support with NAVSEA engineers available if necessary for detailed troubleshooting assistance to the on-site technician, as required.  The on-site technician shall provide a monthly status report identifying the issues worked/fixed, responses to emergency calls, upgrades completed etc.
• Hours of Operation.  The on-site technician shall be available to support 24hrs operations; however, normal work hours are from 0700-1600 with an hour for lunch Monday thru Friday except Federal holidays, leave or as approved by SAIC and with concurrence from the PHYSEC Branch Chief.
• Afterhours Response.  The on-site technician shall be available to respond to afterhours SMS issues.   The on-site technician shall initially attempt to trouble shoot the issue via phone.  Additional assessment and consultation can occur between the on-site technician and PHYSEC, if necessary.  If it is determined that on-site assistance is required, the technician will make every effort to be on site within one hour.  No more than 12 after hours response requests expected per year.
• Vacations.  On-site technician shall request vacation with their direct company supervision two weeks in advance.  NAVSEA and SOCOM PHYSEC Branch Chief will be notified of the time off and NAVSEA shall work to provide a backfill during any absences longer than one week.
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 4 + Years with HS, 2 + years with BS, 0 + Years with MS
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
• Must have and maintain a Top Secret (SCI) security clearance and be physically capable of performing the tasks identified.
• Six (6) years electronic security system experience (preferred). Low/Voltage wiring experience (i.e. DC control circuits or PLCs)
• Able to maintain/troubleshoot Electronic Security System and false alarms associated with Motion Detectors, Access Card Readers and various other components of the security system
• Must be able to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms and lifts as needed to access equipment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with all DoD stakeholders to provide dependable, professional support
• Some computer knowledge (Excel and Word mostly)
