Tampa General Hospital is home to one of the busiest transplant programs in both the state of Florida and the nation.  The transplant unit has 48 private rooms dedicated to organ transplant and post intensive care ventricular assist device (VAD) patients.  The nursing team works closely with the Tampa General Medical Group (TGMG) delivering exceptional care using a multidisciplinary approach.  This is a unit of elite class, highly trained, and qualified nurses where miracles happen every day.
Job Summary
The Transplant RN Referral Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with health care team to develop theory-based patient care for those patients undergoing solid organ transplantation (heart, liver, lung, kidney or combination organs) from candidate selection through long term post transplant follow-up.  The RN Referral Coordinator is responsible for reviewing patient records, interviewing patients, referring patients for initial visit and documenting/creating abstracts in EMR for referrals to transplantation programs. The RN Referral Coordinator is responsible for patient, significant other and nursing staff education regarding end-stage organ disease management and solid organ transplantation.  The RN Referral Coordinator is also
responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Required Skills
Current RN license from the State of Florida, BSN required, minimum of 2 years of critical care experience OR current certification as a CCTN (Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse) OR CCTC (Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator).
