Licensed Practical Nurse 2 - Otolaryngology
Responsible for direct communication with patients and their families regarding surgery procedures, surgical clearance, pre-operative visits, surgery and post-operative visits. Addresses questions and/or concerns regarding same. Incumbent will adhere to all policies and procedures of both the USFPG and the Department of Otolaryngology. Must remain professional at all times and use good judgment in performing all duties as described. Must maintain all C.A.R.E. standards set by the USFPG and Department of Otolaryngology.
Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Licensed as Practical Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 - maintain an active Florida license.
Experience Requirements: One year clinical care experience preferred. BLS and AED required, demonstrated competency within 90 days required.
Business Skills Requirements: Knowledge of basic organizational tasks and patient care management skills with demonstrated specialty competencies. Ability to recognize and report abnormal symptoms of patient conditions. Ability to administer medication injections as ordered, within scope of your practice. Phlebotomy skills preferred, demonstrated competency required within 90 days. Aseptic technique preferred, demonstrated competency required within 90 days. Adept at electronic medical record and proficient in computer skills, including Windows and MS Office. * Requirements reflect the minimum level necessary to be eligible for this position. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
