We are searching for the next highly talented Sr Software Engineer to join a growing team, with an industry leader in Data Management (SaaS, PaaS).

TECH SNAPSHOT:
Their product team uses JavaScript (backbone.js) and a Java-based REST API for the Software as a Service piece that allows users to act on, report on, and export their data. They mostly use MySQL for the data store. There are also teams responsible for the backend integrations with 3rd parties (data providers and export partners) and for collection of the data and aggregating, etc. Those teams deal more with big data and NoSQL. Those also include Java coding.

WHAT this role is:
The Senior Software Engineer will deliver clean, maintainable working software to production on client’s platform. You will be a member of client’s close-knit and efficient engineering team, working on a scrum team of 4-6 people, operating in 2-week sprints and 10-week increments that ensure your efforts deliver business value. You will demonstrate your proficiency in individual Java development along with an ability to work within a team structure. You will share your knowledge with more junior engineers while still hungry to grow into a principal engineer or architect role.
Day to Day Role Responsibilities:
Work with Technology & Product team members to define and refine requirements in an Agile environment.
Design approaches and write the software to implement new features and improve existing ones.
Own the definition of new capabilities and coordinate their implementation with other team members.
Required Skills:
5+ of experience as a software engineer with the ability to decompose complex problems and create simple solutions.
5+ years of experience with Java & Spring including knowledge of JVM tuning to get the most from less.
5+ years of SQL database experience including query tuning & stored procedures.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with an ability to work with team members in an agile scrum environment.
Self-motivation to work independently when needed while also participating within a high performing team.
Significant REST API design chops.
Comfort working within a cloud-based environment, preferably AWS.
Comfort working with Git, Maven.
Bonus points for these skills:
Knowledge of Advertising Operations and Technology.
Experience with build and deploy pipelines along with the knowledge to create your own.
Experience with Containers, Puppet, AWS CloudFormation or similar.
Experience with Authentication systems, SAML 2, LDAP, etc.
