JOB TITLE: Software Engineer Senior Principal

SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising activities related to the enterprise's design, development, and implementation of application solutions. Lead and direct solution design for large, highly complex applications requiring skill across multiple technical domains and disciplines with system-wide impact that integrate across the organization. Manage integration technology solutions that support and promote collaboration with business partners. Guide a team of professionals composed of employees and contractors with diverse technical expertise. Serve as a leader to direct technical activities while also providing support for complex projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Independently designs, codes and leads others in the development of cost-effective application and program solutions.
* Independently performs and assists other team members in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, problem resolution, and on-call support tasks for existing systems.
* Defines and drives product application roadmaps
* Leads or acts as a chief technical contributor to translation of business requirements to technical specifications and acts as a technical contributor in the design of new applications or enhancements, including integration of purchased solutions.
* Oversees or performs unit testing or assists with integration and system testing according to detailed test plans to ensure high-quality systems.
* Will assist business partners with User Acceptance Testing.
* Supports the implementation of systems into production, including integration of purchased solutions.
* Directs technical activities while also providing support for small and large highly complex projects that require increased skill across multiple technical environments and disciplines, that have system-wide impact and that integrate across the organization.
* Understands the business and functional requirements that apply to the applications supporting a sub-domain or domain and their relevant interfaces.
* Recommends products that will evolve the organization's technical infrastructure.
* Provides leadership in developing the organization's technical and architectural staff.
* Responsible for Code Asset Management for an application or set of applications.
* Supports and promotes the reuse of assets across the organization.
* May lead or act as a subject matter expert for projects and service requests impacting an application or set of applications.
* Familiarity and compliance with the efficient utilization of the prescribed methodologies and ensures compliance for the work of all aligned resources.
* This role will work directly with solution and domain architects and engineers to understand their technical system requirements.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
* Technical proficiencies/knowledge:
* Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in CS, MIS, CE, or similar field of study.
* A minimum of ten (14) years of Object-Oriented Development, particularly N-Tier programming development in a distributed systems environment, OR any combination of academic education, professional training, or work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
* Preferred Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate; AWS certified Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer or certified Master Java Enterprise Architect
* 10+ Years of enterprise software design in Java, C#, and recent experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
* Experience with JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, AngularJS, or React), HTML5, CSS
* Strong database skills using Oracle, DB2, or SQL Server including SQL tuning, experience in R, NoSQL like Mongo, or cosmos is a bonus.
* Experience with Source Code Management (Git, TFS, etc.), build scripting (Gradle, Maven, and Make), and build servers Bamboo/Jenkins.
* Experience using Docker on a cloud-based platform is a plus, particularly having scaled containers across multiple Docker daemons.
* Experience using continuous deployment /continuous integration (CI / CD) technology.
* Experience with Microsoft APIM, Identity management.
* Experience with agile development methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum Experience.
* Expert in microservices design patterns, and MVC controller architecture.
* Expert of Azure DevOps, Azure API APIM, Gateway, and exposure to AKS preferred.
* Expert in the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of system solutions.
* Expert in data analysis, and data structure design.
* Excellent command of rapid application design (RAD) concepts.
* Required non-technical proficiencies and knowledge:
* Excellent interpersonal/written/verbal communication and listening skills necessary.
* Exhibit self-motivation for success in a fast-paced, dynamic and unstructured environment.
* Ability to adapt and be open to frequent changes in the work environment and prioritization.
* Ability to manage multiple competing deadlines.

* Ability to use good, practical, and fair judgment when escalating team member's tasks or projects assigned that will impose risk to the timeline or cost of the project.
