You will utilize your accounting educational background to work as part of a team on various stages of an engagement or project. Based on performance, career goals, and business conditions you could walk away with a full-time offer.  PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Broaden your experience by working on a variety of clients in many different industries while helping build a national SALT practice. Gain technical skills by delivering a full range of SALT services including: Research and documentation of technical conclusions related to day-to-day state tax matters that arise; Multistate reviews that analyze income, franchise, and sales and use tax to identify optimal filing options; Various state tax compliance matters including state Voluntary Disclosure Programs; Technical support with state controversy matters like state tax examinations and preparation of appeals and private letter rulings; Business structuring and other transaction-related matters; and Credits, incentives, and state refund opportunities. Works directly with business owners and leaders and help them get the tax guidance they need to grow their business. Keeps current on state tax legislation and case law in technical areas and draft articles for internal and external publication. Gains experience, exposure, and knowledge of tax procedures, workpapers and systems. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree or working towards the achievement of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.  Exemplify our CLA values – curious, collaborative, transparent, inclusive, and reliable. Passion for doing impactful work, accountability for actions, initiative to make visions a reality, integrity that places honesty and trust above all else, professionalism, and conscientiousness. Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to learn new technologies Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products. Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client sites.   #LI-MG1 CLA exists to create opportunities for our people, our clients, and our communities.  We are a proud equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, disability status, protected veteran status, national origin, or any other characteristic protected by law. Click here to learn about your hiring rights.
