This position is currently located within the Department of Public Safety but will transfer to the Department of Adult Correction when it is established on January 1st, 2023. This position will serve Piedmont Correctional Institution.

Position is a Registered Nurse located at Piedmont Correctional Institution #3500 in Salisbury, NC, which houses approximately 800 of medium custody male offenders.   Position provides professional nursing care/treatment to patients in accordance with medical protocols, written policies and procedures, and the NC Board of Nursing scope of practice.   Work includes conducting sick call/assessment, assisting the physician, carrying out orders, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.   Position responds to medical emergencies, monitors for communicable diseases, counsels for compliance with diet, medications and treatment; responds to inquiries, medical appointments, orders medications and supplies, and additional nursing care duties, as required. Position requires oversight of LPN and CNA I/II staff, as designated by management.  Individuals may be required to work any shift, weekend, or holiday, with limited supervision, as assigned.

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.  If possess a single state RN license from a state other than NC, must apply and receive at a minimum a "temporary license" to practice in NC prior to hire date.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
