Summary/Objective:
Under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer and in coordination with the CEO, the Marketing Generalist is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of the marketing strategies, including aspects of brand management, marketing, print and electronic communications, graphic design, and social media/website management for Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County (HFHHC). The position is also responsible for brand integrity, as well as internal and external messaging.
Essential Functions:
• Raise the visibility of the organization to the implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan for HFHHC including focus on creating a social media editorial calendar and print/electronic marketing materials.
• Manage HFHHC’s web presence and maintain the website ensuring that information is dynamic, current, and correct while tracking metrics for monthly reporting.
• Create and execute fundraising campaigns in partnership with the Chief Development Officer.
• Create regular content and track metrics for social media platforms (Facebook Page, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn).
• Make recommendations for new platforms that HFHHC should be utilizing to stay relevant.
• Support HFHHC’s graphic design needs for printed marketing materials (signage, store displays, emails, flyers, mailers, etc.).
• Coordinate the work of freelance designers, copywriters, editors, and web developers as needed.
• Act as the assistant editor for print, audio, video, and e-communications through coordination with the Chief Development Officer.
• Facilitate HFHHC newsletters and occasional email blasts to targeted audience.
• Create clear and concise messaging to be used when speaking, writing about, or presenting HFHHC.
• Responsible for ensuring brand integrity.
• Monitor HFHHC media coverage, including providing quarterly metrics and analysis.
• Maintain an internal media library of photos, videos, and audio clips.
• Capture and edit photos and video to use with created content.

• Ability to function effectively with a minimum of daily direction and support.
• Can solve problems and make decisions independently in a creative and effective manner.
• Ability to work directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere).
• Knowledge of basic HTML, website design, SEO and content management (WordPress platform).
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to project manage within a team.
• Can solve problems and make decisions independently in a creative and effective manner.
• Strong understanding of social media marketing and some experience using these channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn).
• Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write and edit professional copy.
• Familiarity with branding best practices.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time exempt position. The typical workweek is Monday – Friday with some evenings and weekends required.
Education, Experience and Attributes:
• Desire to work towards Habitat’s mission.
• College degree and/or 3 years of experience in communications-related field.
• Ability to take initiative and make effective recommendations to staff and Board.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
