* We have 2 roles open as a Partner Cloud Architect Lead, each with a different area of focus within the Global Partner Solutions, US (GPSUS) team. One will focus on Apps & Data Innovation, the other will focus on Business Applications.*
In this role you will drive strategic planning, execution excellence, and technical intensity of multi-disciplined teams of architects to fully activate platform innovation opportunities for the Microsoft US partner ecosystem. You'll lead the architect teams that design, build and launch solutions and offerings with Microsoft's partners to support partners' digital transformation journey and align with Microsoft's technology priorities. You'll also ensure partner capability and capacity to bring new solutions to market that drive both partner growth and Microsoft revenues and enables building and skilling aligned to partner plans and market needs.
As a Partner Cloud Architect Lead you'll act as a trusted advisor to key decision makers by learning about the partner ecosystem, advising on solution strategy & roadmap, and positioning Microsoft offerings. You'll generate business insights to inform strategic planning and leverages teams in gathering insights to address business challenges to influence engineering and product decisions.
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical or sales experience
* OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, product development, or related technical or sales experience
* OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
* Relevant experience in focused solution area of Apps & Data Innovation (Cloud App Platform, Data & Analytics Solutions and/or AI based services) or Business Apps (Microsoft Power Platform and/or Core Business Apps & Dynamics 365 Solutions).
* Experience directly leading (as technical lead or management) technical engineering, software development, or solution architecture teams.
* Experience in software development, solution implementation, or product engineering.
* Experience in leading technical skills and/or solution development across a partner ecosystem.
* Experience in strategic roadmap development driving long term product/technology strategy.
* Experience influencing across organizational boundaries for joint success & co-development of solutions and offerings.
The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $161,800 and $242,600.
At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.

Partner and Industry Insights

Brings in business and industry insights to address the broader business challenges for the partner. Executes work against the overall business and technical strategy.
Trusted Advisor
* Acts as the voice of the partner and internal advocate by providing insights, feedback, and challenges from the partner to internal teams (e.g., product groups, engineers) across all levels of the organization. Drives action to ensure that internal teams understand and respond to insights.
* Acts as the "virtual Chief Technology Officer (CTO)/Chief Digital Officer (CDO)" or "go-to" person in established, long-term relationships with technical decision makers (TDMs) and/or business decision makers (BDM) at the C-level (to the extent that the partner will call for consultation without being prompted) and advises on solutions and positions Microsoft offerings.
Strategy Formulation
* Provides analysis of overall partner needs for some of the largest and most complex accounts, and advises on gaps that would benefit from co-development of Microsoft based solutions, using an understanding of the business strategies and outcomes that technology can support; leads the adoption of technologies by plotting the strategic, long-term vision of the customer's/partner's business strategy and driving action to bring to fruition.
* Ensures full US partner ecosystem success through execution of solution builds and development of full ecosystem strategy and digital transformation plans by anticipating and/or leading the resolution of technical blockers and capture of technical opportunities that arise during strategy planning, implementations, and driving technology adoption.
* Guides the creation of mid-term and long-term (e.g., 12 months plus) technical and business roadmaps for the market and industry needs in their focused solution area and how to best deliver them through highly prominent, challenging, and/or strategic partners based on a deep understanding of business and technology priorities and industry landscape; ensures that teams drive envisioning and articulate business and program changes in the roadmaps around new and groundbreaking capabilities both to Microsoft's partners and Microsoft's product engineering teams.
Demand Generation and Orchestration
* Proactively generates demand for architect teams across US & worldwide internal teams by aligning needs, strategy and opportunity for impact.
Differentiated Value Proposition
* Establishes clarity and builds differentiated value proposition through the team and motivates team to anticipate competitive technologies and industry trends to drive success. Guides team to drive conversations with large-scale or high-impact partners that present the strategic relationship between Microsoft technologies, products, and services compared with the competitor's solution and the partner's overall business goals and objectives.
* Creates and maintains a vision with business and technology solution scenarios and services that helps large-scale, high-stakes partners meet their business goals, achieve their long-term corporate vision, and maximize commercial success.
Education and Thought Leadership
* Provides thought leadership and guidance to their immediate team, partners, and the broader community on enablement plans to educate and build large and high-stakes partners; allocates resources, manages budget, and provides guidance to their immediate team and partners on creating and implementing the enablement plan build practices. Drives teams to contribute to innovations to accelerate meeting goals for capacity.
* Provides expertise and is sought out by the Microsoft community at the global level. Leads the direction that virtual team members (e.g., Account Team) take with customers by providing them with strategic input using thorough knowledge of Microsoft technologies, partner accounts, and digital transformations and their context in the competitive landscape. Serves on panels or external communities and shares expertise with internal teams that influences change and transformation of solutions.
Ensuring Success
* Orchestrates a wide, complex range of processes, tools and stakeholders across Microsoft and within large, high-stakes accounts to develop solutions and offerings to deliver successful co-development mitigating and managing risk, solution scope timelines and milestones, tracks progress toward objectives; leverages industry expertise and establishes technical credibility with partners to drive the project agenda.
* Partners with line-of-business leaders and senior executives across both partner organizations and Microsoft's sales & engineering teams to optimize technology consumption and adoption across the enterprise. Creates benchmark processes that are adopted by others across subsidiaries.
Solution Development
* Ensures teams are influencing large, global partners to develop groundbreaking and highly advanced/impactful solutions using Microsoft technologies, and builds solutions into the partner ecosystem to enable partners to sell to end-customers.
Partner Enablement
* Helps partners build practices or solutions and shares their experience and influence with partners through solution-sales guidance; provides guidance to the broader technical team to ensure that technical pre-sales, deployment, and consumption (with a focus on key strategic workloads and solutions) are part of solution development efforts; coaches the partner on building resilience to technical issues and dealing with competition.
