• JOB TYPE: Direct Hire Position (no agencies/C2C - see notes below)
• LOCATION: Remote - Work from anywhere (Time Zone: EST | Full day overlap)
• SALARY: $95,000 – $120,000/yr
• ESTIMATED DURATION: 40h/week - Long-term
THE OPPORTUNITY
Requirements
Professional Experience/Background to be Successful:
• 10 years overall experience with at least 5 years in a management role and previous experience as a software developer
• Experience leading teams with 5+ engineers in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
• Experience working with international teams, including across time zones and cultures
• Track record of delivering business initiatives with high quality and scale with multiple releases per month
• Experience working with development, QA, dev ops, program management and product management in an agile scrum model
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, and confidence presenting in group settings.
• Fluent in English: Read, Write, Speak
• Knowledge in CI/CD, React, PHP, AWS
• Experience in influencer marketing (Instagram and Tik Tok) is a plus but not required
Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Thorough knowledge of information systems technology and software development processes and tools, especially industry specific applications.
• Extensive knowledge of the business unit supported as well as the ability to recognize the business impact to the overall organizations
• Managing technology deliverables
• Strong engineering and technology background with the ability to drive product solutions
• Demonstrated management, leadership, interpersonal, and excellent oral and written communication skills, with sound judgment, and the ability to drive decisions through consensus and influence
• Experience in managing full stack development teams (mobile, responsive web and APIs) & distributed teams
• Experience in working with public cloud platform/providers
• Knowledge in CI/CD, React, PHP, AWS
What You’ll Be Working On
We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the technology efforts of a client project. The client’s product is an influencer marketing platform that helps social media “influencers” to get paid for marketing company brands and products. As Director of Engineering, you will be responsible to work with the leadership team in creating and implementing a technology strategy and roadmap. As part of that responsibility, you will manage the dev team (located in USA and Nepal) and ensure the delivery of ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive big picture vision for the technology strategy and roadmap
• Work closely with the company CEO and COO to align business business strategy with technology strategy
• Manage distributed development team, including running scrum ceremonies, holding developers accountable, and removing impediments as necessary
• Balance the maintenance of legacy system with the ongoing development of new features
