This role is ideally based out of Scottsdale, AZ, but the successful candidate is able to reside anywhere in the US where there is a Ryan office.
In addition to 7+ years of experience, the ideal candidate will have experience with forecasting and modeling, property tax, and a strong background in client account management.
We will consider individuals who are currently in a Director role or ready for a promotion.

The Property Tax Director ("Director") oversees Consultants/Managers providing property tax compliance services for assigned clients. The Director actively pursues new client opportunities and maintains existing client relationships. The Director helps to mentor, coach and counsel Managers and team members to help Ryan build an inclusive culture and high performing teams. This individual should add value through maximizing operational efficiencies on all client engagements by enforcing policies, standards and guidelines. The Director is responsible for creating positive team member experiences, which lead to excellent client service and drive revenue and profit for the Firm. The ideal candidate with have analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong people skills. Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan's Key Results
People:
* Create a positive team member experience.
Client:
* Manages and monitors all aspects of the annual property tax cycle for assigned personal property portfolios.
Value:
* Manages and monitors all aspects of the annual property tax cycle for assigned personal property portfolios.
* Demonstrates superior knowledge in assessment review, rendition filing, and jurisdictional and industry expertise.
* Schedules, coordinates and leads all status calls/client presentations and consistently updates them on recent activities and status of engagements
* Attends hearings, settlement conferences, and negotiations through settlement.
* Reviews and manages client contract terms, scope of services and fees.
* Manages client billing and ensures timely receivables.
* Demonstrates ownership of individual engagements/clients.
* Actively involved in business development of new clients, maintaining existing clients, and focusing on cross-selling efforts.
* Supervises and provides guidance to team and acts as mentor to Managers and Senior Managers.
* Ensures team compliance with Firm policies, practice guidelines, and standards.
* Gives timely performance feedback to team members and addresses, documents, and escalates performance issues.
* Ensures workload is property distributed among Managers and team members and holds team members accountable for completion of assigned projects.
* Builds eminence by leading internal training, speaking at external conferences and events, and writing articles.
* Participates actively in professional organizations.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
* University Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management or other degree with MBA, MST or JD required.
* Minimum of ten years property tax related experience required.
* Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid driver's license required. Director should maintain professional designations such as Certified Member of the Institute (CMI), and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), or equivalent, and keep active in professional organizations on a local and national level.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directly supervises employees in the Property Tax practice and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Firm's policies and applicable laws.
