Position Summary
• Applies professional mastery to drive and lead the end-to-end data governance, and management processes across Ahold Delhaize USA and globally.
• This position will drive and lead the governance and management of Finance master and reference data, make well thought-out decisions on complex or ambiguous data issues, and balance data risk and operational efficiency when providing end-to-end data solution design advice. This position also works cross functionally with data domain owners and stewards in the execution of their data related responsibilities. This position requires focus on data strategy, and data management, as well as a familiarity with business finance and accounting functions in order to provide support for projects, programs, and operations.
• In addition, the position is expected to provide thought sharing at a global level. As a key member of the Finance Data Management Center of Excellence (COE), this position leads and/or participates in testing, implementation, and on-going management of data related systems and capabilities. These may include data change pre-approval process, Stibo Mapping/X-Ref, data issue management, error handling, testing error resolution, effective end-to-end data operations reporting, etc.
• This position will support ongoing data governance and stewardship operations, to include definition and implementation of policy and procedures, analyzing data issues, monitoring data quality, assisting in cataloging data elements, defining business terms, etc.
• Decisions influence the teams effectiveness toward the overall planning, scheduling, and deliverables of the function and overall roadmap. Poor decisions have an impact on long-term business goals. Effective internal and external interactions, secured through strong influencing skills, are an important link in the communication chain of the business unit and contribute to the effective implementation of major projects and/or functional initiatives.

Duties and responsibilities
• Directs and advises other professionals relating to the creation and maintenance of data management policies and procedures. Decisions set the direction for the team's effectiveness toward the overall planning, scheduling, and deliverables of the function and overall roadmap. Poor decisions have impact on long term business goals.
• Effective internal and external interactions, secured through exemplary influencing skills are an important link in the communication chain of the business unit and contribute to effective implementation of major projects and/or functional initiatives. Key contributor to the overall Finance roadmap.
• Oversees and participates in the delivery of education and training related to data management policies and procedures to business partners, data stewards and end users.
• Advises on the available standards, methods, tools and applications relevant and can make appropriate choices from alternatives.
• Influences senior leadership when data issues are unique, complex, and difficult.
• Leads and participates in complex System Integration Testing (MDG), providing creative and innovative solutions to problems that arise.
• Oversees the reporting environment, including data sources, security and metadata ensuring data integrity.
• Provides solutions for data quality programs through error detection and correction, process improvements and/or process design strategies.
• Oversees master data, including creation, updates, and deletions.
• Maintains strong relationships with key business partners to ensure priorities are integrated into data management framework.

Key Skills
• Understanding of finance and accounting terminology and processes
• Experience in finance, AR/collections, AP and/or procurement background helpful
• Understanding of data governance and data management disciplines, practices, and processes
• Experience working as a data steward Preferred
• Possesses knowledge and expertise in data modeling and management techniques and strategies
• Familiarity with reporting and analytic tools (i.e., Business Objects, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
• Familiarity with legacy and modern data integration tools and methods (i.e., Mulsoft, Kafka, etc.)
• Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, etc.
Requirements
• Bachelors degree Required, Master's Degree a Plus
• 10+ years relevant experience in data governance and/or business data management roles with a focus in one or more of the following areas: finance, compliance, legal, privacy, information security
