Job applications for current students will not be considered if submitted through the external career center.Position DetailsThe Admissions Office for Graduate & Continuing Studies at The University of Tampa has a position available for a Staff Assistant I to assist in front-desk customer service operations. This position reports to the Director of Graduate and Continuing Studies and will support the Admission Counselors in the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies.Responsibilities1. Provide administrative clerical and customer service support to students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a fast-paced environment.2. Greet students and the public visiting the Admissions Office for Graduate and Continuing Studies.3. Answer phones as required for the department.4. Schedule appointments as needed for the staff in the Admissions Office for Graduate and Continuing Studies.5. Register guests and add new appointments utilizing the computer and appropriate programs.6. Participate in special events as-needed, occasional evenings and weekends.  7. Assist with social media campaign for Graduate Admissions.8. Manage event coordination for Graduate Admissions events.9. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.Requirements1. High School diploma required, some college preferred.2. One year clerical experience in an office environment.3. Ability to work within a team and interdependently.4. Ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy, including being able to maintain confidentiality when necessary.5. Excellent customer service and people skills.6. Proficient in MS Office.7. Good oral, written, and inter-personal communications skills needed and excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.  8. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.9.
