Javan Engineering has an opening at a client site for a Project Manager / Project Engineer.
The Project Manager / Project Engineer will be responsible for the development and management of capital projects. This position will be responsible for the detailed project definition and scope with assistance from the technical leader for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) pre-screening activities, evaluating process technology options, leading Basic Engineering activities, EH&S reviews, Manpower planning, Basic design with scope optimization, Obtain budgetary quotations, Constructability planning, Cost estimation, Integrated scheduling, developng equipment lists, component specifications, support the selection of parts and vendors, assist with the preparation and coordination of submittal documents for clients’ review and coordinate the response to clients’ questions and observations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Facilitate project authorization with assistance from personnel
• Act as liaison between Procurement and personnel for capital purchasing
• Perform or facilitate detailed design Engineering activities
• Partner with engineering firm to complete when applicable,
• Lead engineering, constructability, and procurement reviews
• Maintain and manage project documentation during the life of the project in compliance with RAGAGEPs, project document control processes and site Process Safety Management requirements.
• Facilitate Construction activity
• Coordinate with personnel project construction activities
• Monitor cost, schedule, and safety
• Perform or Facilitate Start-up activities
• Develop startup and commissioning procedures with support from personnel and/or engineering supplier
• Develop Operating Discipline procedures with support from personnel
• Conduct project Pre-startup Safety Review
• Support the Management of Change process with personnel
• Partner with personnel to perform training
In summary, this position will either perform or coordinate the entire capital project work process: Front End Loading, Authorization, Procurement, Design, Construction, Commissioning, Check Out, Turn Over and Final Project Close Out.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.S Engineering or related technical background
• 5-10+ years Industrial Plant Experience
• 5-10+ years of Project Management or Project Engineering Experience
• The ability to understand complex technical processes.
• Excellent communication, organization, management and leadership skills
• Effective problem solving skills
• Knowledge of various equipment and maintenance practices
• Function effectively in a multi-task environment, analyze situations and respond promptly.
• The incumbent has the theoretical technical knowledge combined with analytical thinking as well as the practical experience to solve problems in
The ideal candidate would be available 5 days a week to support this project role with the ability to be on-site for the majority of that time. Interaction with the plant team is critical to the success of this role.
This is a seasoned Project Management / Project Engineer position, the incumbent must possess broad based skills in engineering and project management as well as in planning and organizing.
