Job Objective
The Health of Special Operations Forces Cell (HOSC) of the Directorate for Command Support (SOCS) of the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), requires support for the oversight and management of outreach efforts supporting Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) and Sexual Harassment Prevention. Primary support will focus on the SOF Enterprise outreach efforts for SAPR and Sexual Harassment programs.
This Prevention Outreach Specialist position requires personnel to conduct prevention outreach efforts related to conducting data, policy, and program analysis to implement management controls that ensure program effectiveness, compliance, and alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) and USSOCOM program objectives, policies, and directives.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for supporting the planning and evaluation of prevention activities (policies, programs, and practices), training, education, and outreach for integrated primary prevention. Provides program coordination and serves as an advisor to the SOF Enterprise SAPR Program.
• Manage and provide oversight to sexual assault case reporting requirements within the SOF Enterprise.
• Support USSOCOM initiatives to prevent and eliminate sexual assaults and sexual harassment and related behaviors to ensure a resilient and ready workforce.
• Promote and communicate USSOCOM culture changes on transformational initiatives, which strike at the root cause of sexual assault and other destructive behaviors such as domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse, sexism, harassment, and discrimination.
• Engage with the Defense Suicide Prevention Office (DSPO) to assess ways to approach combatting destructive behaviors and promote positive ones.
• Manage sexual assault prevention and response points of contact and provide oversight of program execution, initiatives, and compliance. Monitor and report SOF Enterprise staffing of the SAPR program to ensure trained and credentialed personnel are in places to provide victim support and services.
• Collaborate with SOF Enterprise SAPR Program Managers, Sexual Assault Response Coordinators, and Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program on collecting statistical data related to annual sexual assault and sexual harassment prevention training. Share and document best practices and lessons learned.
• Serve as member of USSOCOM SAPR Operational Team (OPT) to synchronize SAPR efforts across the SOF enterprise. Serve as member of on the SAPRO working group responsible for implementing top-down policy, answering requests for information (RFI), and various deliverables.
• Assist with the Equal Opportunity Strategic Advisor on command DEOCS surveys, providing recommendations to remedy climate deficiencies related to sexual assault and sexual harassment. Participate in external working groups, focus groups and sensing sessions, as required.
• Collaborate with USSOCOM Office of Judge Advocate on the tracking of legal disposition on Sexual Assault Cases within the SOF Enterprise.
• Participate in various industry conferences such as National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA), End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI), and Affinity Groups, as required.
Minimum Requirements
• Be able to operate a Personal Computer (PC) with common/standard business software programs. Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
• Enter data into multiple applications and databases accurately.
• Retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data accurately.
• Design, develop, and present data research findings to diverse audiences.
• Work is primarily sedentary, although there may be some walking or bending involved in activities connected with job performance to include occasional travel.
