Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.Orchid Underwriters Agency (Orchid), a member of the Brown & Brown National Programs family, is seeking a Staff Accountant for our Tampa, FL location.Orchid is looking for a Staff Accountant to help take Orchid’s finance and accounting function to the next level. This individual will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks and will be an integral part of the month end close and parent reporting processes. The Staff Accountant will also have visibility and interactions with Orchid’s senior leadership team and Brown and Brown’s finance and accounting team.The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with U.S. GAAP and financial reporting and is looking to broaden their experience with a fast-growing, dynamic company.In this role you will have the opportunity to:Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations, and related support.Support the accounts payable and procurement processes.Assist with month-end and quarter-end financial reporting.Prepare reporting and process payments to insurance carriers.Assist on other ad hoc initiatives as necessary.The successful candidate will have the following skills:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance.Appropriate progression or completion of professional accreditation (e.g., CPA, CFA, CTP).Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.Proficient computer skills and ability to prepare workpapers and analysis using Microsoft Office tools.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.Attention to detail, demonstrated integrity, and professionalism.Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet reporting deadlines.Key Competencies:Problem Solving Analytical Thinking Attention to Detail  Communication Proficiency Ethical Conduct Business Acumen Teamwork and Collaboration What We Offer:Excellent growth and advancement opportunitiesCompetitive pay based on experiencePaid Time OffGenerous benefits package: health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.Employee Stock Purchase PlanWho We Are:Orchid, a member of the Brown & Brown, Inc.
