ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Our department is based on an entrepreneurial model utilizing experienced board-certified general and subspecialty trained university and private practice radiologists as physician-educators and academic partners within the USF Health outpatient imaging centers and at our primary teaching facility, Tampa General Hospital. The Department of Radiology prides itself on delivering high-quality diagnostic radiology services to our patients in a professional and compassionate manner utilizing state-of-the-art, fully digital imaging equipment. The mission of the Department of Radiology is to advance the knowledge and practice of diagnostic imaging and radiation sciences. Our goals are to provide excellent clinical care for our patients, to teach residents and students excellence in clinical imaging, and to create new knowledge through scholarly activities. Our educational objectives for medical students are to provide information about the appropriate utilization of diagnostic imaging and to inform them of the role of diagnostic radiology as a specialty. We are dedicated to providing quality education for future physicians by offering a fully accredited diagnostic and interventional radiology residency program as well as subspecialty fellowship programs in breast imaging, vascular and interventional radiology, and musculoskeletal imaging.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The diagnostic radiology resident administrator manages the programs operational activities by providing administrative oversight and support to radiology residents, teaching faculty, program directors, and medical students. Works with faculty, residents, and staff to establish, implement, and maintain diagnostic radiology residency policies and procedures. Ensures the diagnostic radiology residency program policies and procedures are in accordance with Accreditation Council for Graduation Medical Education (ACGME) guidelines and USF Graduate Medical Education (GME) policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The residency administrator provides both administrative oversight and support to all diagnostic radiology residents. Serves as a program liaison to diagnostic radiology residents, alumni, departments, and affiliates. Administers policies and procedures related to the diagnostic radiology residency in accordance with department, industry, and accreditation standards. Advises faculty, residents, and staff on matters related to diagnostic radiology residency policies and procedures. Assists residents through all stages of residency including the submission of fellowship applications and the creation/submission of conference presentations.
Manages and coordinates diagnostic radiology resident interview activities such as: screening applications, scheduling of interviewees/interviewers, creation of applicant information packets, and agendas. Assist in the screening and ranking of diagnostic radiology residency applications. Communicate applicable applicant information, including the final rank list, to all necessary entities and systems such as Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS), USF GME, and ACGME.
Manages and coordinates residency events, such as: new resident orientation, resident interviews, didactic lectures, journal clubs, mid-year and end of year diagnostic radiology resident evaluations, completion and tracking for resident required internal and affiliate training's, holiday party and graduation events.
Provides support and meets regularly with resident education directors concerning program issues, activities and the status of projects. Participates in program-level policy development and compliance with accreditation standards. Assists Program Director with scheduling, as necessary.
Maintains resident and faculty informational databases such as: GME's New Innovations, ABR, ERAS, ACGME, and Trello. Monitors licensing, duty hours, annual contracts, appropriate certifications, evaluations, and contact information.
Develops, implements, and oversees the maintenance of filing, record keeping, distribution of materials, and other types of office/program systems. Evaluates and standardizes office procedures and effectively troubleshoots and resolves issues.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience coordinating medical education programs or accredited residency and/or fellowship programs; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
PREFERRED:
Three to five years of program administration experience preferably in healthcare and/or academic setting.  Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and web-based programs.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Highly organized.  Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.  Ability to make decisions independently or to escalate issues as needed.
