POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will provide services for the division of Allergy Immunology clinic located at the Johns Hopkins All Children's Outpatient Care Center.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs professional pediatric nurse practitioner care according to established standards, practices, protocols and in accordance with the Florida Practice act for Advanced Nurse Practitioners. Follow up and interpretation of diagnostic studies. Providing documentation in patient electronic medical record. Assists and helps develop patient educational materials and provide participant /family with instructions on medication administration, proper home support and other medical recommendations.
Coordinates activities related to the diagnosis and treatment of allergy and immunology disorders. Including but not limited to timely communication with staff and medical providers of changes in patient medical status. Conducts in-depth interviews with patients and family and or family, constructs comprehensive medical histories.  Participates in QA projects, educational sessions for clinical staff and attends scheduled organizational sessions.
Implementation of new treatment plans and established plan. Communicates with insurance and other third party providers for authorization of treatment plans. Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental infection control and requirement of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, service, and related activities. May be responsible for research and/or academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Master's or Medical degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.
This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64. Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in .
PREFERRED:
Experience in Family Medicine. Previous Experience in Allergy Immunology
