Lab Medical Assistant II - South Tampa Health Hub
BayCare is currently in search of our newest Lab Medical Assistant to join the laboratory team who is passionate about providing outstanding patient care and customer service to the community we serve!
We are looking to fill Lab Medical Assistant II position at the Outreach Laboratory located in the South Tampa Health Hub.
Title: Lab Medical Assistant II
Responsibilities:
• Collects, receives, and processes inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
• Communicates with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Refers specimens to outside laboratories
• Interacts with physicians, clients, and staff regarding lab tests
• Performs phlebotomy procedures (if applicable)
• Works independently and in a team
• Demonstrate organizational, time management, written, and verbal skills
• Use computer skills appropriate to position
• Needs to use and understand medical terminology
• Must have customer service and interpersonal skills
• Other duties as assigned

Certification & Licensure:
• Preferred – Phlebotomy
• Required – Driver's License (if applicable)
Education:
• Required – High School or Equivalent
• Or – Bachelor’s in related field in lieu of experience
Experience:
• Required - 6 months phlebotomy
• Or - 6 months laboratory related
• Or - 6 months related field
