Job Description
Overview:Services the collateralized loan portfolio for Suncoast Credit Union by way of monitoring and maintenance of lien and UCC perfections and satisfactions. The responsibilities may include but are not limited to; assisting front line staff with questions, ChangeGear tickets, contacting dealers regarding lien perfection, updating systems of record, visiting the Department of Motor Vehicles, working a variety of exception reports, posting payoffs on collateralized vehicle loans and completing title changes post lien perfection.Responsibilities:Provides support to Service Centers and the Member Care Center (MCC) with the perfection and release of liens.Works problem title requests for in-state dealer loans booked by back-office staff where the appropriate documentation was provided prior to booking.Follows up and monitors recorded UCC-1 forms received from courthouses.Completes UCC-3’s to terminate liens previously perfected using the UCC-1 forms.Enters correction requests to notify employees to resolve errors as it relates to lien perfection on the collateralized vehicle loan portfolio.Receives electronic and/or paper certificates of title, verifies electronic transmissions of collateral information, and responds as needed.Researches and corrects loan number associated with each paper title, alphabetizes for filing, and maintains necessary screens in database used for title tracking.Completes title service requests received from Service Centers and MCC personnel.Assists members requesting name changes or state of issue changes on certificates of title.Notates Notice of Subsequent Lien requests from other financial institutions in the collateral record.Processes checks from dealers and financial institutions to pay off titled collateral loans. Processes DMV refund checks. This includes balancing a non-cash drawer on a daily basis.Balances checks received for Accounting Center 5 and packages them to be sent to Item Processing.Researches “problem” titles in which the Credit Union’s lien has not been properly recorded or ownership is improperly recorded.Works exceptions reports related to the automated process of liens perfection and satisfaction daily.Visits the Department of Motor Vehicles to complete title work on behalf of the credit union on a weekly basis.Corresponds and communicates with members as needed regarding the perfection and/or release of liens on collateralized consumer loans.Completes payoff quotes received within the department for personal consumer loans.Sorts and distributes the Loan Division’s daily mail.Attends job-specific training classes as requested by manager. This includes, but is not limited to, completing annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understanding employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completing FACT Act Red Flag training.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.2 or more years previous work experience in a financial institution preferred.General knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures.General knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.General knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software programs required to perform job duties.Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators.Must be able to work under moderate supervision.Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to resolve routine problems and situations.Basic knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.Basic knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.Basic knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators.
