Property Accountant

Lee Hecht Harrison Recruitment Solutions (LHH) is partnering with a leading property management company to fill their open Property Management position based in Tampa, FL. In this role, you are given the opportunity to work with a collaborative, growing and stable company. To qualify, you must possess at least 4 years of recent, relevant experience in accounting. This is a CONTRACT-TO-HIRE job with the opportunity to become permanent based on performance and attendance. You will also be able to sign up for LHH's benefits programs during the time of the contract portion of this position.
Responsibilities:
• Reconcile complex bank accounts daily and balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Review property operating statements and analyze variances to the previous year’s forecasting and budgets.
• Examine ledger details, analyze transactions, and adjust entries when necessary.
• Prepare quarterly and annual schedules to support the financial statements used for public reporting.
• Identify and propose recommendations for changes and improvements to accounting policies and procedures.
• Lead projects that streamline and improve the monthly close process, including software integration and implementation projects.
• Maintain daily communications with property managers.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 4 years of recent, relevant accounting experience
• Fluency in Microsoft Suite 2007; high proficiency in Excel
• Strong financial acumen, including problem-solving and critical thinking
• Strong organizational skills
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA candidate preferred
Compensation:
• Starting at $65,000 USD annually – flexible based on experience
