ROLE SUMMARYThe Global Payroll Process Owner (GPPO) is responsible for delivering best-in-class Payroll operations, providing strategic and functional expertise and operational leadership for the Global Payroll teams in Pfizer’s four Strategic Site locations in US, EMEA, APAC and LatAm/Canada.The GPPO oversees Payroll services for colleagues in all of Pfizer’s 88 markets, including key PGS manufacturing sites, WRD colleagues and Commercial organization, in a variety of languages and on a variety of payroll platforms. Pfizer Global Payroll is highly impactful, complex and multi-faceted, and includes frequent transactions for Executive Level colleagues, organizational transformation/severance projects and collaboration across many functions.  Additional considerations include relations with Works Councils, strong unions and multiple stakeholders within the business. The role is responsible for leading and driving end-to-end Payroll strategy, compliance, processes, innovation, continuous improvement and metrics/analytics for Pfizer Payroll operations around the world.  As appropriate, this will also include responsibility for Time & Attendance systems with input to Payroll (T&A is implied with further references to Payroll).Recognized internally and externally as the payroll technical and functional expert, the GPPO is accountable for leading the standardization, optimization initiatives, innovation and governance in collaboration with the STPCS Tower Continuous Improvement lead and GBS Transformation teams.The role will be expected to influence senior management decisions that have impact on business direction​.  Some of these decisions have long-term business unit impact and may entail risk or business opportunityThis role will promote Pfizer’s Purpose, Values and the GBS culture, engaging and leading a team of qualified and diverse payroll managers and associates. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Lead a global team of almost 100 Payroll colleagues in four Pfizer Strategic Sites and the Payroll COE to deliver best-in-class Payroll and time & attendance operations, resulting in timely, accurate and compliant colleague pay.Serve as the Payroll Sponsor for STPCS, GBS FS, Business Development and other cross-functional projects.Establish, execute, and update Global Payroll and Time & Attendance strategic and annual operating plansOversee the Regional Leads and COE in the four Strategic Sites, ensuring service delivery noted.  This includes colleague recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance management and team quality, according to Pfizer’s Purpose and Values.Ensure optimal Colleague Experience with Payroll through development, execution, measurement, and optimization of Portal (FUSE) and Case Management (Service Now) technology.  Work with Product Owners and Global Payroll Process Lead to establish processes, metrics, governance, and continuous improvement plans.Oversee the establishment, tracking and management of internal and vendor SLAs / KPIs / metrics. Manage tiered market, regional and global third-party vendor governance model to ensure excellence and delivery of key metrics.  Point of escalation for critical issues ensuring timely resolution.Responsible for execution of global payroll optimization and standardization initiatives, contributing to overall payroll process innovation across all regions.Accountable for Payroll compliance, controls and audits, ensuring that Global Controls and SOPs are followed and regional / country work instructions are maintained, updated as needed and followed.  Accountable for all payroll-related SOX compliance, including internally and from vendors.Responsible for relationship management with key stakeholders in HR, Executive Compensation, Executive Office, Colleague Services, PBG, PGS, Digital, Tax, Audit/Compliance, Finance and Treasury, identifying areas for process and service delivery improvements. Lead regular Payroll benchmarking and external / regulatory monitoring to ensure best-in-class performance and compliance.Create a culture focused on continuous improvement, automation, compliance, vendor accountability and quality, focused on measurable outcomes and improvementAccountable for colleague engagement and development in support of Global Business Services objectives. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or related field requiredMore than 15 years of experience in payroll, accounting or human resources, including at least 7 years of team managementDemonstrated experience in leading a high-performing team in a matrixed, regional / global environment;
