What you’ll be doing...
You will be a part of the Global Network & Technology organization focusing on supporting the strategic technology evolution across the organization specifically focused on the Base Network Controller (BNC) and Nokia Nuage VSD (Virtualized Services Directory) network functions, and VSOP (Verizon Service Orchestration Platform) network functions. As part of this team you will support the day-to-day operations, deployment, monitoring and maintenance of these applications in addition to working with other cross-functional planning, engineering and operations teams within the network.
As Senior Engineer you will work with senior leads and program managers to help in building solutions to enable the redesign of day-to-day wireline & wireless network operations.
• Supporting the BNC and Nuage virtualized applications, and VSOP virtualized applications.
• Building, executing and managing automated test cases for the toolchain and monitoring BAU functionality.
• Collaborating with Planning, ME and other application teams towards operationalization and management of BNC and Nuage VSD, and VSOP in a virtualized production environment.
• Providing coverage for operational issues.
• Ensuring the platform outages are handled in accordance with predefined guidelines relative to ticket management, prioritization, documentation, escalation and its resolution.
• Ensuring accurate and timely submission of outage notifications.
• Monitoring adherence to SLAs and ensure that all internal metrics, performance based and non-performance based, meet or exceed their designated targets.
• Reviewing reports to investigate Reason for Outage and perform problem trending to identify chronic platform issues and work with vendors to get those addressed.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of Cloud platforms.
• Experience with Linux/Unix system administration.
• Experience with deployment / configuration management tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Python.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
• A degree.
• Experience in technologies (NETCONF, Openflow, SSH,OpenDaylight (ODL), ONAP, IOS and Junos Operating systems, Java/Spring boot, JavaScript, React.js,*nix, Python, Kubernetes, RH Openshift, XMPP, RHV, Artifactory, Docker, Jenkins, Fortify, Junit, Git, Micro services, SOAP/REST, MongoDB, PostgreSQL F5 LTM, GTM).
• Experience in (OpenStack CLI and administration, RESTful API development, Software Defined Networking (SDN).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
