GDIT is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to provide Cloud Security services for an exciting contract. This security engineer work with a team of engineers building out AWS security services to support this client. They will be responsible for working with the clients cybersecurity services to design and implement a cloud security framework using native cloud services; identify and develop monitors to ensure compliance; and work with platform consumers to secure their environments.

GDIT is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to provide Cloud Security services for an exciting contract. This security engineer will work with a team of engineers building out AWS security services to support this client. They will be responsible for working with the clients cybersecurity services to design and implement a cloud security framework using native cloud services; identify and develop monitors to ensure compliance; and work with platform consumers to secure their environments.
Responsibilities:
• Works with the team to maintain all documentation for process and procedures related to engineering projects.
• Develop procedures and processes to maintain the security of the customers entire cloud environment.
• Work with the development team to ensure that the architecture will support the existing and planned applications.
• Design and Develop automated security alerting and remediation capabilities
• Work with agency cybersecurity team to design a compliance framework for cloud services
• Support and advise on application assessment, migration and modernization.
• Provide guidance on the remediation of security findings.
• Performs advanced systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.
• Provides and applies advanced engineering to highly complex infrastructures including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Provides and applies advanced engineering skills to highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Prepares and maintains all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
• Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, model formulation, computer architecture analysis and design, and digital systems engineering.
Key Requirements:
• U. S. Citizen and/or Green Card holder
• Ability to secure a Public Trust clearance
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification
• 3+ years' experience in deployment and management of AWS security services including Security Hub, AWS Inspector, AWS Systems Manager
• Experience implementing a compliance framework using AWS cloud services (e.g. CIS)
• Strong automation/scripting experience
• Experience deploying integrated security logging, monitoring and altering solution using AWS services.
• 3+ years experience with solutions delivery using well-architected cloud frameworks, services, and technologies
• 10+ total years IT of development experience
• Expertise in cloud service delivery models
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and development teams
• Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing to convey cloud technologies and solutions to customer personnel
• Expertise in developing, maintaining and contributing to technical and process documentation.
Desired:
• 3+ years experience working within a DevSecOps/DevOps environment, utilizing AWS services, solutions, and provisioning/automating AWS infrastructure, services and tools.
• Experience with third-party tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible Knowledge of end-to-end modern agile software development.
• Ability to work within a collaborative team and a fast-paced dynamic environment.
