OverviewThe Governance team is responsible for governance and control oversight of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) including (i) policies, supporting standards and procedures, and training, (ii) regulatory and audit communications, (iii) internal controls, and (iv) consent order execution. Core ResponsibilitiesSupport ERM Managers Control Assessment (MCA). Analyze test results and open self-identified issues as needed. Identify emerging risks and prepare Quarterly Risk Assessment (QRA) and Annual Risk Assessment (ARA) documents to summarize overall MCA results. Conduct quarterly monitoring, reporting and communication routines.Contribute to risk assessments and drives actions that address the root cause(s) that may lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.Resolves complex MCA problems or transactions, where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines or processes.Work closely with Risk Controls and Issue Management and Operational Risk Management partners to discuss/evaluate key risks/controls and address any Manager Control Assessment (MCA) related inquiries.Identify the need for and develops new and improved procedures and process control manuals.Perform and report on trend analysis; find opportunities for process improvements.Schedules, hosts and drives meetings with multiple levels of management requiring strong communication, influence skills and diplomacyEnsures project completion, special assignments, and other ad hoc activities as required.Qualifications:Demonstrated ability to think strategically and ‘connect the dots’, be detail-oriented, and manage competing priorities including emerging risks to deliver solutions in an effective control environment. 6-10 years Finance Services experience in control risks, operational risks and/or project managementAbility to analyze a process and recommend ways to improve quality, controls, and efficiencyFamiliarity with regulatory landscape facing global banks. Ideally, have worked in banking industry or regulators institutions.Experience with issues resolution including root cause analysis, mitigation plans, and remediation activities.Risk knowledge and application: understanding, and ability to apply, industry leading best practice in a large, complex organizationShould have Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office – particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and Word (writing and editing procedural and technical documentation).Curious: open-minded, with the enthusiasm and confidence to challengeStakeholder centric: excellent communication skills, with a pragmatic and practical approach based on a clear understanding of stakeholder needsTransformation: thrive on the challenge of change, with the long-term goal of delivering sustainable solutionsAdaptable, flexible and creative - particularly when working under pressureEducation:Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferredThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
