Southern Teachers is assisting North Hills Christian School (NHCS) with its search for a
Director of Athletics to strengthen and expand the school’s sports offerings and provide a quality,
missional athletics program that serves and helps fuel the growth of the student body. With no
teaching or coaching expected and no responsibilities for the P.E. program, the AD will be a godly
and impactful ambassador for NHCS’ sports and student-athletes and an invested member of the
school community.
The AD oversees the athletics program and facilities; selects, evaluates, and supervises the
coaching staff; prepares all practice, game, and officials schedules; supervises on and off-site sports
camps and their coaches; ensures that NHCS buses are serviced and well-maintained; and acts as the
school representative for all conference and state athletic events throughout the year, including the
summer. He or she establishes, reviews, and enforces athletic department policies and procedures in
conjunction with the administrative team; collaborates with the Admissions and Marketing
department to promote athletics; develops a long-range plan and vision for the continued growth
and enhancement of the athletic program; manages and makes recommendations regarding the
department’s budget; and ensures that all student and family sports documents are up to date and
completed on time.
Compelling applicants will be organized, relational doers with good writing and
communication skills and strengths in strategic thinking. Having received Jesus Christ as their
personal Savior and possessing a clear testimony, they will believe that the Bible is God’s Word and
the standard for faith and daily living and agree with the NHCS Statement of Faith. Prior
experience in athletic program administration is preferred.
Founded in 1967 to equip hearts and minds of students to impact the world for Christ,
North Hills Christian School serves a richly diverse community of approximately 475 students in
junior kindergarten through grade twelve 45 minutes from Winston-Salem and north Charlotte.
