The TeamThe Global Functions Technology (GFT) Engineering and Architecture Practice (EAP) is a newly created organization which focuses on ensuring architectural cohesion and delivering common, cross-functional capabilities for our Line of Business Technology organizations (Finance, Risk, Compliance and Human Resources). The GFT EAP reports jointly into the Head of Global Functions Technology and the CTO for Enterprise Operations & Technology.Within GFT EAP, there is the Developer Services team.  This team is responsible for empowering and enabling developers with the best tools and processes to make their lives better as Software Engineers.  The roles in that team are equal parts strategist, execution driver and change agent.  This position requires a candidate with exceptional technical and communication abilities.The RoleThe Senior Software Engineer Team Lead plays a meaningful role in crafting and maintaining the strategic partnership between business needs and technology delivery. The role is to own the efforts to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient systems and solutions in support of the core organizational functions. In addition to managing a team, there is an expectation to contribute to the codebase.Responsibilities:Code contributing manager of multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)Design, document, and develop world-class enterprise applications leveraging the latest technologies and design patternsProvide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end resultsUtilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issuesEnsure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standardsIntegrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goalsProvide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sourcesInfluence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessaryAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.QualificationsDegree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with multiple years of hands-on software development experience.8+ years experience with agile and iterative software delivery8+ years experience with software engineering best practices (unit testing, automation, design patterns, peer review, etc)8+ years architecture experience in building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient and low latency applications5+ years experience in managing Cloud infrastructure both on-premise and public cloud (i.e. OpenShift, AWS, etc)Proficiency with Cloud-native development and Container Orchestration tools (Serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc)Proficiency with API Management toolsProficiency with event-driven design and architecture (i.e. Kafka, Spark Flink, etc)Experience in technical leadership re-engineering monolithic applications into MicroservicesExperience with Microservices frameworks using Java, Python, or C#.Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, both on-premise and public cloud (i.e. Tekton, Harness, CircleCI, Cloudbees Jenkins, etc)Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (i.e Terraform, Cloudformation, etc)Experience in Security, Observability, and Monitoring (i.e Grafana Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, CloudWatch, etc)Experience with Service Oriented and MicroServices architectures, including REST and GraphQL implementations.Experience mentoring and providing technical leadership for teams of 5 of more developers.A passion for learning new technologies, and a desire for personal growth, through self-study, formal classes, or on-the-job training.A passion for building high quality products which customers love.Experience with database concepts and web-based technologies is a plusThe role will report to the GFT Head of Developer Services organization.-------------------------------------------------Job Family Group: Technology-------------------------------------------------Job Family:Applications Development------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time------------------------------------------------------Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.Qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Citigroup Inc. and its subsidiaries ("Citi”) invite all qualified interested applicants to apply for career opportunities.
