A&M Taxand is searching for an experienced Billing Director to join the team. This role will be responsible for leading a fast-growing international team of billing professionals responsible for client onboarding, billing, collections, and effective working capital management. This role is responsible for best-in-class billing operations and requires being a forward-thinking, strategic leader that can identify areas of opportunity for efficiency and scale, lead various cross-functional initiatives, and be a strong partner with internal stakeholders. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and develop a growing team supporting professionals from the US and Europe across multiple business units. Key ResponsibilitiesLead a team of 20+ billing professionals and oversee the project administration, billing, and collections responsibility of the complete client project life cycle from pitch to completion.Identify and lead critical cross-functional initiatives to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the billing operations.Grow the existing team as needed to keep pace with the various business units being supported.Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, Management Analytics to ensure compliance with firm protocols as well as reporting accuracy.Liaise with Operations professionals to understand and drive enhancements designed to elevate customer experience and delivery.Create and evolve reporting of billing team operations, and address issues in a timely manner.Drive employee professional development by providing mentorship and opportunities for learning and growth across the team.Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)Bachelor’s Degree required, in accounting, finance or related field preferredProven ability to manage and lead large teams while demonstrating capability to create/support positive organization culture, provide mentorship/team development, establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability, and foster cross functional teamwork10+ years of experience managing financial and/or accounting operations functions in a professional services firm environmentSuccessfully demonstrated process improvement initiativesExpert skills in MS Office (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)Strategic thinker with proven ability to develop vision and drive initiatives for process improvements that align with organization goalsSuperb financial literacy and fluency with management and financial accounting practicesDemonstrated ability to successfully work in a collaborative environment with a high-performance teamExcellent internal customer service skills with ability to support high performing external customer deliveryAbility to be flexible to dynamic priorities and changing business requirementsSound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential informationAbility to work with all levels of internal staff including executive managementAbility to drive innovation and clearly communicate complex ideasExcellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilitiesDiversity & InclusionA&M’s entrepreneurial culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who can positively impact our clients and shape our industry.
