Job Description:
ICG data team is building the next generation Data fabric on the Cloudera Hadoop platform to solve for
Business, Analytics, and growing regulatory needs.
This job involves being part of a dynamic team and contributing toward performance tuning of core components within the next generation Big Data Platform.
The ideal candidate will have an eye for building and optimizing data systems and will work closely with our systems architects, data scientists, and analysts to help direct the flow of data within the pipeline and ensure consistency of data delivery and utilization across multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
Candidates’ll work with highly scalable, distributed Hadoop clusters, develop data models and structures, support developers, and ensure constant performance for high volumes.
Work with Cloudera support to Identify cluster bottlenecks and propose and implement solutions to overcome these hurdles.
Defining and implementing the right data models, partition strategies, and implement data retention policies.
Performance benchmark the existing applications and recommend appropriate solutions to fix the identified issues.
Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
Resolve a variety of high-impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
Provide expertise in the area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.
Skills:
Must-Have Experience:
Experience with the Cloudera Manager, Ganglia, Grafana, Nagios, or Similar tools to Identify the Cluster performance issues and bottlenecks.
Should have a good understanding of Spark/Impala/Hive/Elastic queries and performance tuning concepts.
Experience with Hadoop applications (e.g., administration, configuration management, monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning).
Experience in Performance Engineering and Benchmarking Large Scale systems and applications.
In-depth understanding of open-source big data components and architecture such as
Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Spark, HBase, Hawk, Oozie, Kafka, etc. preferably with Cloudera distribution.
Experience in the internals of JVMs, performance profiling, and optimization.
Experience in analyzing Thread dumps, Memory dumps for bottlenecks.
Have extensive experience with data implementations, modeling, storage, and distribution.
Added Advantage:
Experience in driving end-to-end programs from Source to consumption, distributed, scalable, and reliable data pipelines that ingest and process data at scale and in batch and real-time.
Familiarity with Git, agile, and CI/CD.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
Master’s degree preferred.
