Overview
Under minimal supervision, the Enterprise Application Integration Engineer - Intermediate position will create, implement, and deploy integration strategies related to connect ResCare healthcare applications. Serving as a subject matter expert, the incumbent will work with systems and software architects to deliver sound, timely technical solutions to complex software integration problems.
Responsibilities
• Designs, develops, implements, and supports the deployment of solutions that are scale-able, reliable, and robust in a mixed, multi-vendor Windows environment utilizing both on-premises and cloud-based healthcare applications
• Oversees System administration to include configuring, implementing, monitoring, and testing of all related applications to ensure that solutions are providing the necessary exchange of data
• Participates in design and architecture planning efforts in conjunction with internal and external partners, other business users or product owners
• Develops data analytics toolkits for the extraction and analysis of large quantities of healthcare data to include Enterprise processing and integration with Company's healthcare data warehouse platform(s)
• Supports applications including troubleshooting issues and clearly reporting them to technical staff and/or vendor(s) as necessary
• Creates, organizes, and updates documentation of provided solutions and updates as necessary
• Works as liaison to Infrastructure and Application Management teams for issues related to connectivity, usability, and performance
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Some travel may be required to meet the demands of an ongoing national rollout of EHR and other healthcare technologies
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, with two to four years of progressive experience in a large, complex enterprise healthcare setting
• Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis
• Previous experience in an enterprise healthcare setting
• Significant experience in workflow design/redesign, healthcare information systems, and/or systems analysis and design experience strongly desired
• Three to five years of overall software deployment and/or platform integration experience in a client/server, distributed and/or web-based environment utilizing a variety of enterprise class technologies
• Thorough knowledge of HL7 and healthcare ANSI EDI transaction formats
• In-depth knowledge and experience with designing, developing and deploying high-availability architectures in an enterprise setting
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking as it applies to engineering and implementation of interfaced applications
• Strong background in healthcare related application deployment, with a thorough understanding of HIPAA privacy and security regulations
• Familiarity with healthcare data analytics, data extraction and ETL processes, with an emphasis on data for healthcare outcomes analysis and reporting
• Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows operating systems
• Initiator and self-starter
• Resolution and analytical skills are essential to success in this highly collaborative team environment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong critical thinking and the ability to apply knowledge within a complex environment is essential
• Ability to understand revenue cycle and clinical workflows and processes
