What you’ll be doing...
Join our IT team to develop the OSS system that is part of Verizon’s next generation network. The OSS will activate customer, infrastructure circuits and test, detect, diagnose network faults and performance issues. You will be applying network and software technologies to solve complex issues occurring in operating state-of-the-art telecommunication networks.
• Working closely with the network architects and engineering, network operations, equipment vendors, and IT teams to deliver projects on time.
• Designing and developing systems to support network operations.
• Researching and implementing new and evolving technologies in Layer 1 and Layer 2 Networking, and associated Vendor-specific implementations to provide state-of-the-art technical solutions to activate, discovery of network, transform and migrate services from Legacy Network to iEN based services.
• Working with onshore and offshore to develop teams and provide technical leadership.
• Hands-on development and coding.
• Working with the QA team and production support team to ensure the system is operating at premium condition.
• Designing and developing capabilities to support next generation network activation, testing, troubleshooting functions.
• Driving the teams in ensuring system stability, and meeting all the quality, SRE, SOE, and security needs.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
What we’re looking for...
What you will need:
• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in network management and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, GLBP, VRF), Traffic engineering, L2/L3 VPN, multicast and class of service.
• Experience in delivering system based solutions in network provisioning and configuration especially around network technologies such as GPON, ROADM, and Carrier Ethernet.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
• A Bachelor's degree.
• Understanding of the characteristics of various circuit types, technology, and vendors (e.g., Cisco/ciena/juniper/Nokia).
