Pay Type Salaried State: NC City: Kannapolis Area of Interest: Education Full-Time or Part-Time: Full-Time Exempt or Non-Exempt: Exempt Job Description JOB PURPOSE: The Grants Coordinator will ensure the successful development, implementation, and closeout of grants to meet school and funder goals and objectives. The Grant Coordinator will oversee and be the main point of contact for program implementation, program compliance and audits, financial compliance, renewals, and any other related items requested by the funder(s). This position will be grant funded and may be allocated to one or more grant sources, including, but not limited to: Title I, SIG, IDEA, and Perkins.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Administers and monitors all aspects of the grant according to funder specifications.
• Works with school staff to ensure grant programs are implemented with fidelity.
• Maintains calendar with all pertinent grant related deadlines to ensure grant progress and work with school staff to implement grant funding strategies.
• Works closely with Regional Business Operations Manager, Principal, Business Operations Manager, Registrar, Enrollment, Accounting, Finance, Grants Specialist, and other support staff to ensure program and financial compliance.
• Monitors and manages rollover budgets and approvals.
• Tracks, monitors, and helps facilitate all grant purchases and staffing, to ensure grant compliance and utilization.
• Assists with the preparation and submission of grant planning reports (example: school-wide plan), budgets and annual applications/proposals.
• Gathers and completes grant quarterly reports and annual reports, to include: Maintenance of Effort, Comparability Reporting, Time & Effort Logs, Semi-Annual Certifications, etc.
• Monitors schools for adherence to the grant guidelines and regulations.
• Works with parent liaison to ensure parent involvement plan and that all related activities comply with grant guidance.
• Ensures deliverables in grant program application are implemented and satisfactorily achieved while maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Remains current on regulations and requirements regarding each program and meets with related staff routinely to ensure delivery of grant objectives.
• Ensures current property inventory records are maintained for each program.
• Assists with the creation and maintenance activity records (applicable student rosters and teacher class schedule/lesson plans).
• Oversees independent evaluator activities and contracted services.
• Keeps complete compliance binder to include all grant related records; i.e. award notice, reimbursement documentation, compliance checklist, inventory logs, contracts, PAFs, offer letters, etc.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Ability to analyze data and assess progress toward meeting application indicators. Ability to work with large amounts of data, to analyze and interpret data, to detect errors, and prepare reports.
• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
• Ability to use computer software programs for budgeting, i.e. Excel.
• Ability to write succinct reports.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills between all constituents: being courteous, professional, and helpful; demonstrates high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
• Communicates with key stakeholders (teachers, principal and community) effectively on grant activities.
• Knowledge of K-12 educational systems particularly schools with disadvantaged students.
• Maintain and examine regulations and guidelines from government agencies.
• Process reimbursement forms.
• Works independently under pressure, give high attention to detail and meet deadlines.
• Strong contributor in team environment.
• Ability to consistently be at work, to arrive on time, to follow instructions, to respond to management direction and solicit feedback to improve performance.
• Proactive and takes initiative. Thinks creatively. Drives projects to completion. Insists on highest level of quality.
• Knowledge of federal and state grant guidelines, i.e. EDGAR, A-87, Single Audit, A-133, etc.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with CSUSA salary and benefit policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by Charter Schools USA.
FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY
Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Charter Schools USA’s policy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor or higher degree from an accredited university, preferably Education and Business related field.
• 2-4 years of budgeting, grant or K-12 experience.
• Highly proficient in Excel, Word and other Office tools.
• Commitment to company values.
• Such alternatives to the above requirements as CSUSA may find appropriate and acceptable.
• Light travel to training, conferences and meetings as required.
