In this vital role you will Amgen is searching for an Accounting Manager to join our General & Administrative (G&A) and Treasury Accounting team. The Accounting Manager will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting. The Accounting Manager will work out of the Amgen Capability Center located in Tampa, Florida.This Accounting Manager will play a key role in executing on accounting and reporting activities and ensuring compliance in the areas under G&A and Treasury Accounting, including compensation (cash bonuses and stock-based), retirement plans (deferred compensation plan and supplemental retirement plan), executive benefits/compensation, prepaids, accruals, payroll and other company-wide benefits (e.g., recruiting, relocation, etc.).Primary responsibilities will include the following:Manage a team on-site as well as the outsourced & off-shore accounting service provider team to complete month-end/quarter-end accounting close process, to prepare account analysis, variance analysis and management reporting package, and to ensure financial controls and quality standards are met.Review and approve journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.Interact and work cross-functionally with a wide range of internal business partners (Treasury, FP&A, Human Resources, and Tax) and provide accounting support and guidance as required.Preparation or review and approval of financial schedules such as footnote disclosures, close reporting deliverables, and providing support for other ad hoc schedules, as needed.Handle key balance sheet analysis review process (i.e., derivatives, debt) and communicate results effectively in quarterly meetings with management and the business.Provide audit support to internal and external auditors and mange financial and SOX audits.Take initiative, analyze current process and lead business review meetings.
