Full Job Description
Turning Point Family Homes has an immediate opening for a Billing and Claims Specialist. We are looking for candidates who are ready to be a part of a team and have a positive attitude. We are looking for someone who can work independently, organized, and strong communication skills. The billing specialist responsibility is to ensure all claims for Turning Point Homes, LLC are getting paid. This is done by working denials, secondary billing, and posting manual payments. Billing specialist will help cover reception as needed. This position can be done primarily remotely.
Education : High school diploma or equivalent and a certificate in medical billing in coding.
Work experience : One year of experience working in a medical/mental health billing capacity.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Competencies in the use of a computer (word, Excel/financial/data base management), On Target, photocopier, and fax machine; organizational abilities; flexibility; ability to multitask; ability to present professionally; ability to exercise sound judgment; familiarity with consumer records and associated confidentiality regulations.
Travel Requirements : Driving to other offices (Mooresville, Concord, Charlotte) when needed to cover reception.
Primary Duties:
Complete all billing for all payors, work through denials in a timely fashion to get claims paid. Verify insurances. 25%
Ensure claims are posted in On Target, post manual payments. 25%
Secondary billing and posting secondary payments for payroll. 20%
Residential billing and payroll. 20%
Reception coverage for when OAs are out sick or on Vacation. 5%
Other duties as assigned/required. 5%
