Description
Title: Systems Administrator
Department: Information Services
Location: On site in Tampa FL
Reports To: Sr. Director of Information Technology
Status: Exempt
Salary: $65,000-$75,000
Duties And Responsibilities
As Systems Administrator, you will be responsible to plan, build, patch and maintain servers in a production environment. You will have responsibility or significant input on hardware configuration; server setup; software/OS installation; and applications implementation, upgrade, security, and auditing. In this highly visible role, you will provide technical support for internal clients and proactive problem identification to maintain system availability, as well as root-cause analysis for any system failures. Enhancing operations and efficiency in accordance with the mission statement of Metropolitan Ministries. Duties will include but will not be limited to:
• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades and must be able to design and plan for the growth of the infrastructure.
• Support the activities of the IT Team as an active and supportive team member.
• Complete projects on agreed to timelines and within pre-defined budgetary constraints.
• Administration of Windows based servers and associated software applications.
• Maintain high quality documentation, willing to capture details and keep comprehensive change management records.
• Supports the Holiday Center and team in other tasks as assigned.
• Meets personal goals and actively contributes to the achievement of team and organization targets/goals as measured by Key Performance Indicators and in the annual plan.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of equivalent experience, or Associate's degree and at least 5 years of equivalent experience, or high school diploma and at least 7 years of equivalent experience
• A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, or cloud certifications (Azure or AWS) are a plus
• Must have competency with administration of Windows Server 2019/2022, Office 365 Administration, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, InTune, SCCM, Powershell and backup technologies
• Experience in at least two of the following: Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, VMware, Azure Virtual Machines, WatchGuard Firewalls, Ubiquiti Networking, 3CX Voice, Veeam B&R
• Ability to mentor volunteers, interns and junior staff
Additional Valued Experience:
• Experience installing wireless access points and switches
• Experience with administration of Microsoft Dynamics
• Experiance with SQL query language
• Experience with installing rack mounted equipment, UPS's, wire management panels, and cable management devices
• Experience with 3CX digital and VoIP phone systems
• Experience with physical access control systems
• Experience with digital video observation systems (surveillance)
• Experience with audio/video equipment, sound mixers, lighting controllers, video switchers, etc.
• Experience mentoring others in a technical setting
Skill Requirements:
• Must be able to create high quality documentation, willing to capture details and keep comprehensive change management records.
• Ability and willingness to work irregular hours when required to maintain the infrastructure and core business operations or functionality, including scheduled weekend maintenance windows.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and balance important larger projects with immediate smaller needs, while exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations.
• Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision, with a proven ability to prioritize and multitask with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to deliver quality results on time.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team framework.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to issues of faith, culture, and other sources of diversity.
Physical Requirements:
Hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective oral communication of information; physical, emotional and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress. Able to tolerate outdoor temperatures consistent with Florida climate and endure prolonged standing/walking/bending/stooping and stretching. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly. Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more. Must be able to perform work with and manipulate small parts.
Other:
Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must pass required background pre-employment screening. Must be able to communicate effectively in English. Requires a valid driver's license, a clean driving record and the ability to qualify for the Ministries' driving program. Must adhere to the policies and procedures of the ministry; Must be able to work flexible schedules during the holiday season (October-December) and special events. Must be on call for emergencies and be willing to work alternate shifts. Must own a personal computer or laptop that can be used from home via an internet connection to the Ministries computer systems.
