Junior Property Accountant

Lee Hecht Harrison Recruitment Solutions (LHH) is partnering with a leading property management company to fill their open Junior Property Accountant position based in Tampa, FL. In this role, you are given the opportunity to work with a collaborative, growing and stable company. To qualify, you must possess at least 3 years of recent, relevant experience in a similar role. This is a DIRECT-HIRE job.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in preparation of month-end workpapers for management company’s properties throughout the U.S.
• Prepare month end journal entries as needed, accruals/prepaids
• Assist in review of property management software reports to ensure proper recording of financial records
• Ensure timely payment of portfolio payments to vendors, real estate taxes, insurance, etc.
• Assist in calculation and preparation periodic/scheduled distribution
• Collaborate with the varying accounting & property management teams to provide accounting support for multiple properties
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial and projection reports that are timely and accurate for senior management
• Liaise with property management employees to accomplish company goals
• Assist Controller with various ad-hoc projects
• Continually develop knowledge and skills to further personal and firm growth
• Proactively communicate with clients and colleagues to build trust and foster meaningful relationships
• Other duties assigned
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in multifamily residential, public, resort or hospitality industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically Excel
• Experience with Timberline/SAGE 300 software preferred
• Experience with Yardi property management software products preferred
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
Compensation:
• Starting at $55,000 USD annually- flexible based on experience
