The Opportunity:
As an Information Security Specialist, you will monitoring different systems for unusual and suspicious activity. You will consume, research, evaluate and document security related events and alerts as they are received. Support multiple security-related platforms, working with team members in Information Security, Technology, other internal departments and external customers/partners.
You will evaluate, test and document security solutions and controls. Working with IT infrastructure, security operations, and project teams to identify, classify and reduce risk while ensuring the business can improve.
You will report to the Information Security Team Leader and will be an involved member of the Vulnerability Management Team at many levels. This role must display an in-depth understanding of vulnerability management, incident response, new trends and technologies related to IT security and compliance, and contribute to our security roadmap.
The Day-to-Day:
• Implement and monitor security systems and process responses for security events
• Perform threat modeling exercises for systems identifying attack surface, threat vectors, and recommend effective security controls
• Manage a response investigation from alert notification to log and system analyses
• Help with incident response (IR) and postmortem exercises
• Stay current with and remain knowledgeable about new threats and IOCs and maintain working knowledge of advanced threat detection as the industry evolves
• Analyze attacker tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) from security events across a large network of security devices and end-user systems
• Participate in response training events with other members of the technology and security teams
• Follow service level agreements (SLAs), metrics and business scorecard obligations for ticket handling of security incidents and events
• Review and recommend new security solutions and effective improvements to existing security controls that do not negatively affect business progress
Your Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity experience (or IT systems administration coupled with security)
• Working knowledge of adversary tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) and MITRE ATT&CK principles
• Experience in incident response, system monitoring and analysis
• Experience conducting risk assessments that protect the business and adhere with compliance and privacy laws
• Advise partners of business risk as it relates to information security
• Experience in Financial Services or other regulated industry with security as a top priority
• Technical Skills: • Deep skill set and understanding of the Microsoft stack
• PaaS experience including Azure and AWS
• SIEM Systems
• Security Automation and Orchestration Solutions
• Network analysis knowledge
• OSI model knowledge
