ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
USF Information Technology (USF IT) provides technology services and support for the University of South Florida. The IT team, led by the Vice President and CIO, provides the following services: Administrative Services, Client Support, Communication Services, Teaching and Learning, Analytics and Reporting, Mobile and Web Services, Consulting Services, Cybersecurity Service and Research Technologies.
POSITION SUMMARY:
USF has over 2000 classroom and computer lab technology systems that require managing by the Desktop Engineering (DE) team. This position will be responsible for working with the DE architect and team to ensure that the computers in these labs are up to date in terms of the hardware being in working order and that the systems have been updated with the most appropriate technology solutions. This position will provide on premise technical support for lab and classroom computers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide in person support for classroom and lab devices. Make sure that security and network connectivity are optimized. Download needed software titles for faculty and staff. This position will have access to a golf cart to travel around campus.
Assess classroom and lab computers for upgrade necessities. Work with lab tech lead on prioritizing replacements and then make the appropriate replacements.
Replace faulty equipment and surplus according to USF IT policies and procedures.
Assists with deployed inventory for IT Asset Management.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training, or a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and one year of IT related work experience, OR a combination of 5 years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification, validated through certification requirements and documentation of completion, is considered to be related training.
