The Enterprise Infrastructure Sr. Director implements the enterprise architecture and is responsible for the development and maintenance of the organization's computing/IT environment.  They are responsible for determining current and future enterprise infrastructure needs, along with setting vision, global strategy, and policy, that aligns to business financial goals, and minimizes security risks. This role works cross-functionally with various IT teams to determine and meet their needs and the needs of the business.

Level Overview:
The Sr. Director of Enterprise Infrastructure oversees the design, implementation and support of infrastructure systems that support the organization and ensures the stability, scalability and reliability of all infrastructure systems in the company’s ecosystem, both in the data center and public cloud solutions, They are responsible for corporate datacenter and public infrastructure, storage and virtualization, site-reliability-engineering, disaster recovery, datacenter operations, and database and web services.
A diverse background of technology from hardware, software, storage, public cloud infrastructure, application development and network infrastructure is required to research solutions, maintain supplier relationships, solve technical problems and create business opportunities.
This position directs the activities of 3 areas through directors and managers/senior managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of their functional areas (SRE, Datacenter Operations, Database and Web Services). This position has control of planning, staffing, budgeting, and managing expense priorities across these areas.
What We Need & What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Strategy and Architecture:
• Participates with other members of the Enterprise Infrastructure and End User Technology services organization, along with the broader Technology organization, to establish tactical and strategic plans, roadmaps, and objectives.
• Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT systems that fulfill the needs of the business, including the full life cycle of technical architecture, application engineering, testing services and IT service support.
• Drives the Enterprise Infrastructure portfolio by reviewing performance and directing work efforts of Engineers and vendors to ensure alignment with company, stakeholder, and end user priorities.
• Leads the development of the enterprise infrastructure strategy and technical roadmap, and ensures its integration with the overall IT and enterprise strategic plans, including database, web services, data centers, cloud, storage, virtualization and DR.
• Aligns Engineering and Operations efforts across products and projects.
• Engages with teams across the enterprise to understand current needs, strategic direction, and upcoming requirements to support line of business operation and growth.
• Understands enterprise goals and KPIs to ensure value is delivered against them.
• Gains a thorough understanding of Technology Services and business needs, both existing and potential, and uses that knowledge to help design solutions that exceeds expectations.
• Communicates with key user and operational groups to understand business needs.
• Elicits ideas and assists team members with gaining shared understanding of systems engineering techniques.
• Markets and promotes Enterprise Infrastructure capabilities so that IT and business partners understand the team's capabilities and the associated benefits.
• Presents complex design concepts and rationale to multidisciplinary teams, as well as to key stakeholders and business partners.
• Contributes to and makes recommendations for strategic plans in support of key objectives in a timely and fiscally responsible manner.
• Supports and nurtures strategic vendor relationships; recommends ways to influence vendors that align to domain, portfolio, and enterprise strategic objectives.
Execution & Delivery:
• Acts as a trusted advisor to the VP of Enterprise Infrastructure and End User Technology. Builds and maintains relationships with other IT leaders and business executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs. Ensures cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs and is able to respond with the agility required to address changing business priorities.
• Provides guidance on design, configuration and support for documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met.
• Is responsible for driving the identification of required enterprise infrastructure solutions and services, their design and implementation.
• Provides technical guidance and governance for corporate technology deployments.
• Explore, evaluate and recommend the use of strategic, cost-optimized solutions that improve resiliency and/or functionality of the enterprise; including migration out of the data centers to hosted or cloud-based solutions, adoption of managed services or other operating models.
• Define system security objectives in line with the global information security program policies. Routinely review and improve system level security to stay ahead of threats and bad actors.
• Lead large-scale cross-functional transformational projects that support the growth of business, right-size operating costs and propel the company into growth mode. Includes identification, building and presenting of business cases to senior IT leadership with ROI analysis.
• Reviews specifications for complex technology solutions and new technology selections.
• Provides regular status to leadership regarding progress of End Use Technology team’s efforts and delivery against roadmap.
• Communicates to senior management, business partners, and group/team with the appropriate information at each level and forecasts needed resources such as vendors, technologies, consultants, staffing needs, and training for the team to accomplish business objectives.
• Partner with the Technology and business teams to deliver stable and highly available systems for internal and cloud applications
Support:
• Makes suggestions that help drive operational excellence to create internal customer satisfaction and meet operational requirements.
• Owns relationships with technology vendors and internal customers, including internal and external managed services partners.
• Develop and maintain supplier and consulting relationships and service contracts, including contract terms and financials.
• Responsible for management of the procurement of products or services, and their financial planning and management.
• Removes roadblocks and obstacles that may affects the team to help ensure they can meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
• Manages escalations and incoming requests from cross-functional technology teams and business partners.
• Provides governance for the creation of production support documentation, standard operating procedures and organizational readiness handover documentation.
People:
• Leads and manages a dedicated team of directors, managers, and individual contributors, remotely across the globe, hires and trains new staff, conducts performance reviews, and provides leadership and coaching, including technical and personal development programs for team members.
• Create an innovative environment for the team to develop scalable solutions, solving business problems using cutting edge technologies including cloud technologies, and automation solutions.
• Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching.
• Responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining talent, identifying gaps in talent, and identifying high performers.
• Provides development guidance, creates individual development plans to close gaps in talent, and provides opportunities for stretch roles to develop future leaders.
• Sets performance standards and holds team members accountable to standards.
• Conducts annual and mid-year reviews, reviewing individual development plans and providing performance feedback.
• Fosters collaboration with team members to drive value and identify and resolve impediments.
• Responsible for delegating work and monitoring the performance of associates.
• Assists with removing roadblocks and utilizing technical knowledge to assist associates with meeting goals.
Who You Are (Qualifications)
Qualifications
• Bachelors or Relevant Work Experience
• Min 15 years’ experience in related field plus 5 years in a supervisory role
• Knowledge of industry practices and application systems, and the potential use of technology solutions in a business environment.
• Preferably five or more years of experience in large, cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organization design and development.
• Preferably proven experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments.
• Prior development experience and multi-disciplined architecture background (Infrastructure, Integration, Security, Data) Services solutions and technology background a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams, including day-to-day prioritization of work, reviewing system changes and approving all work going into Production.
• Preferably proven experience in building relationships with IT partners to align and deliver on common objectives for the company.
Technical Competencies:
• Experience with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, SOC 1 and 2, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Personal Data (PII).
• Knowledge of and experience in developing and documenting project plans, test plans and delivery/release notes.
• Knowledge of and experience with cloud architecture deployments and SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions.
• Familiarity with ITIL, SDCL, ITSM, Agile and other methodologies for infrastructure, service and software delivery.
• Troubleshooting system outages and manage all SEV 1 / P1 incidents with urgency and pragmatic troubleshooting.
• Proven proficiency in High availability design and architecture, DevOps, SRE, Agile, AIOps, and IT Governance.
Information Systems:
• AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, VMWare Virtualization, Linux and Windows Server platform, Enterprise backup discipline, Enterprise Database platforms (Oracle, MSSQL, Progress), and Datacenter Operations monitoring and management technologies.
Competencies:
• Proven experience as either lead or participant in enterprise-wide datacenter transformation effort.
• Strong negotiation and ability to coach and guide associates toward new levels of contribution.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities communicating and reporting at the business and IT executive level.
• Experience in software and infrastructure development project management, agile framework, DevOps, ITOps, and public cloud SRE.
• Ability to execute on simultaneous projects to successful delivery.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with stakeholders and senior business leadership of departments and customers participating in this project.
• Ability to organize and work effectively with project teams made up of internal staff and/or external parties.
• Demonstrated experience and relevant expertise in the configuration and deployment of infrastructure in both traditional and cloud settings.
• Demonstrated experience with vendor management and contract structuring.
• Strong technology skills with the ability to synthesize relevant information and make key decisions.
• Strong analytical skills to relate security requirements to appropriate security controls including sensitive data management.
• Written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners.
