This is an excellent entry level IT opportunity! The IT Support Assistant will assist the Director of Information Technology with performing a wide variety of confidential administrative, secretarial, and clerical duties. The IT Support Assistant provides end users with guidance and support by taking ownership of various problems and resolutions.
Essential Functions:
Technology Deployment and Inventory Maintenance:
• Document and maintain inventory of computing hardware and software in the company.
• Facilitate and coordinate the software and hardware lifecycle management process, including managing surplus and retired equipment disposal.
Help Desk Support:
• Install, support, troubleshoot, and repair various hardware and software.
• Provide courteous, desktop support for users via phone and in-person.
• Utilize a help desk system to track and document issues and provide updates according to our internal service level agreements.
• Coordinate with other team members regarding status of assigned help desk tickets and escalate when unable to resolve a customer's issue or request.
• Repair and run new network cabling; assist with Wi-Fi analysis and troubleshooting.
Information Technology Administrative Assistance:
• Schedule meetings both internal and external with staff and vendors around initiatives and projects.
• Research contracts and enter contract terms into our Fresh Service Knowledge Base.
• Contact vendors and merchants as needed to provide operational services, coordinate services, and follow through on outstanding issues.
• Maintain project and departmental expenses for reporting and auditing purposes.
• Manage all department related purchase requests and invoices, assigning GL numbers to invoices and forwarding them for approval.
• Logging onto vendor websites to perform various administrative tasks including paying invoices that are not auto deducted.
• Based on specifications, obtain and evaluate quotes for computing hardware, software, and supplies.
• Convert SOP documentation from Word Documents to Fresh Service.
• Handle Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, and Annual recurring work efforts as appropriate.
• Q&A Testing Web and Shop Site Modifications as part of a rigorous deployment testing plan.
Special Projects:
• Assist IT team with daily procedures, special projects, and other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Availability to work as First Tier On-Call, including evenings and/or weekends, as needed.
• Strong competency of Microsoft Office 365 and Tessitura Security Administration.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
• Self-motivated with strong administrative and organizational skills; must be able to prioritize work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Demonstrate success in maintaining accurate records and attention to detail.
• Ability to function both independently and as part of a team in a multi-task environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent telephone manners are essential.
• Ability to work with tact and diplomacy; adept at dealing with people from different backgrounds.
• Ability to interpret a wide variety of instructions and work within established guidelines under limited supervision.
Education and Work Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Higher education degree in the field of Information Technology preferred/
• One to two years of direct work experience providing:
• Customer Support
• Troubleshooting ability for the various operating systems such as Windows 7/10
Certifications / Licenses:
• Certifications such as A +, Network +, MCP, MCTS, Security + preferred.
