Full-Time Distribution Center Job Details Description BestCo Inc. is a privately-held manufacturer located and operated in Mooresville, North Carolina. BestCo is known industry-wide as a leading developer and marketer of innovative, consumer health care products for retailers and marketers of OTC drug products and dietary supplements. BestCo specializes in manufacturing solid dose lozenges, soft chews, and other confectionery-based delivery forms of consumer healthcare products for both private label and contract manufacturing partners.  BestCo combines nearly a century’s worth of confectionery experience with emerging consumer healthcare insights to create unique products for our customers.  BestCo strives to be a pioneer and innovator in the field of confectionery delivery forms of OTC drugs and dietary supplements.BestCo is currently searching for a  Material Controller I - 8-hour 1st Shift (Thursday - Monday) to be located at our Mooresville, North Carolina facility. Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Distribution Supervisor, the Material Controller I is responsible for properly processing and safely transporting all supplies, orders, materials, and outgoing shipments to/from all BestCo facilities.  Additionally, this position is responsible for inspecting all equipment and performing refueling operations.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver materials, supplies, and orders to various BestCo locations, undamaged and in a timely manner.   Move pallets of raw materials, packaging and finished goods as required. Operate 26’ box truck proficiently ensuring that all requested materials are delivered within prescribed time requirements. SAFELY perform all duties. Responsible for safe vehicle operation within DOT regulations and specifications Report and coordinate equipment (forklifts, turret trucks, dock restraints/levelers, chargers, etc) maintenance activities as necessary Responsible for completing all paperwork legibly and accurately. Complete refueling activities as required Follow all Dock Safety Procedures Follow Shipping Order Pulling Process Follow FIFO inventory activities Maintain lot numbers Operate material handling equipment as required Load/Unload freight in an accurate and timely manner Responsible for accurate materials management Responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of Distribution facilities and equipment. Inspect Equipment prior to use; Inspect and water batteries as required Support off-site Outpack operations delivering material and equipment as required Support all recycling activities Participate and support all security/safety related activities Process requisitions for supplies Process orders for outgoing shipments (prepare packing slips, stack correct quantity on pallet, etc.) Responsible for unloading/receiving tankers, evaluate tank readings, process applicable documentation (inspection checklist, tank levels, tanker data, tanker receiving) Bulk Tanker Activities as required. Follow all cGMP rules and policies Support all production activities to include verifying labels and dis-positioning products. Other duties as required. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Self-Starter Possess a high level of personal integrity Able to handle and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize Must possess good writing, mathematical and organizational skills Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently Load/Unload freight in an accurate and timely manner Computer literate Will be proficient with forklift operations, box truck delivering, tank farm activities and material scanning   REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 1 year experience working in manufacturing or material handling role. 1 year of forklift experience. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Must have prior experience loading and unloading trailers Ability to work flexible hours PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: More than 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing or material handling environment. Proficient with box truck delivering, order pulling/fulfillment and material scanning.  At least 3 years of forklift operations experience Forklift certified. Proficient in stand up and sit-down lifts. Proficient with loading/unloading tank farm activities Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry Knowledge of OSHA Regulations NCMI Graduate All offers of employment are conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation, drug screen, and employment eligibility verification (E-verify).
