Full-Time Headquarters Job Details Description BestCo Inc. is a privately-held manufacturer located and operated in Mooresville, North Carolina. BestCo is known industry-wide as a leading developer and marketer of innovative, consumer health care products for retailers and marketers of OTC drug products and dietary supplements. BestCo specializes in manufacturing solid dose lozenges, soft chews, and other confectionery-based delivery forms of consumer healthcare products for both private label and contract manufacturing partners.  BestCo combines nearly a century’s worth of confectionery experience with emerging consumer healthcare insights to create unique products for our customers.  BestCo strives to be a pioneer and innovator in the field of confectionery delivery forms of OTC drugs and dietary supplements. BestCo is currently searching for a Reliability Engineer, to be located at our Mooresville, North Carolina facility.  Position Summary The primary responsibility of the Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is to increase the reliability of all manufacturing equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.  This is accomplished by providing engineering and leadership support in close coordination with the production leadership teams, continuous improvement team, plant operations personnel and site engineering.  This role will be responsible for managing numerous reliability improvement initiatives and projects to achieve desired results.  The role will actively interact with all levels of the organization.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations through the use of best in class failure analysis methods Understands, embraces, improves, and implements to a sustainable level the BestCo Asset Reliability Program (ARP) Participates in the development of design and installation of new and modified installations to ensure their reliability and maintainability Serve as lead for complex troubleshooting efforts on all manufacturing equipment Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials. Take ownership of the implementing and evolution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs Provide technical training and education to all levels of the organization when applicable Assist with the implementation and sustainability of critical spare parts and purchasing management programs Develop equipment procedures and documentation for both existing and new equipment installations Focuses on long term reliability issues and utilizes reliability principles to determine and make appropriate improvements Leads select high-impact, complex, cross-functional improvement initiatives Develops, monitors and communicates critical departmental TTIs and KPIs Actively and routinely investigates Equipment Failures with detailed Practical Problem-solving techniques to determine Root Cause and executes countermeasures. Required Qualifications BS in Engineering A minimum of 2 years of experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment Experience implementing and maintaining equipment reliability programs Cross functional team experience Good interpersonal & communication skills; able to communicate internally and externally at all levels of the organization Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge and aptitude Strong written and verbal communication skills Intermediate Excel skills and the ability to learn new complex applications Able to adapt to changing procedures and environment Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Must be able to work independently under pressure in a fast-paced, team oriented, ever-changing manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering 5 or more years of experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment Strong Project Management Skills Knowledge of cGMP, FDA, EPA and OSHA rules and regulation Experience with a Maintenance CMMS Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5 S and Kaizen events Confectionery, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing experience "NO OUTSIDE RECRUITING AGENCIES" All offers of employment are conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation, drug screen, and employment eligibility verification (E-verify).
