This team has tasked a variety of projects, including but not limited to new Product Development, Reliability and Factory Sustaining Projects, Cost Optimization, and Aftermarket and Services solutions for North America across the following transport refrigeration product lines: Truck, Trailer, APU, Genset, and Solara. The role entails leading projects using the Engineering Qualification Process, Root Cause Identification & Corrective Action Process, and the internal Quality Review Board (QRB) Process. Candidates will be the Engineering Lead responsible for project execution and design changes. This will require working in a cross-functional environment which includes communicating with other Engineers both at factory and R&D levels, including working with Supply Chain and Suppliers. Additionally, seeking a candidate with skills in 3D modeling, refrigeration and/or mechanical systems simulation, and modal analysis, including but not limited to Finite Element Analysis (FEA), modeling Statistical Analysis, (MatLab and/or Minitab), and IPM Model Analysis.The Engineer will work with global, cross-disciplinary teams to apply model-based design methods and analytical verification tools, and lead product and component projects for a range of HVAC/R equipment and systems for transport applications. Main responsibilities will include:Review data to determine root cause, engineer corrective action, and develop ideas to qualify corrective actionWork closely with service and field organizations to obtain data and samplesPrepare and present updates to the engineering teamFollow and develop standard test experiments and procedures to generate and analyze failure mode data to characterize component problemsEnsure component and system requirements and impacts are captured, structured, and modeled via DFMEA and other root cause analysis tools methodologiesDesign and implement corrective action solutions via a rigorous analytical approach based on Warranty analysis, predictive reliability algorithms, and generated test dataConduct technical reviews with key expertsJob ResponsibilitiesPerform Engineering Qualification tasksDeveloping test plans and lab instrumentation needs to identify the root cause of problems and verify solutionsUtilize continuous product & process improvement principles to streamline project deliverablesWork closely with business personnel to obtain information/data needed for project executionDevelop and manage Project Schedules including Qualification Testing Timelines, QRB Deliverables, and Supplier TasksPrepare and present Project Updates to Engineering Team and Cross-Functional GroupsConduct Technical Reviews with key expertsPerform Data Analysis, Drawing/Model Review, Reliability & Cost Analysis using various toolsExperience & QualificationsKnowledge of and experience with DFMEA/PFMEA principles as related to the root cause/corrective action problem resolution methods (preferred skill)Demonstrated use of lab instruments and data acquisition devices for analyzing and testing mechanical and electrical components (preferred skill)Demonstrated use of model-based verification techniques (preferred skill)Knowledge of refrigeration principles and systems a plusDemonstrated ability to deliver projects/tasks on scheduleDemonstrated Project Management skills with managing multiple projectsPractical application of textbook knowledge requiredEffective communication skills (verbal & written)Energetic team player with proven self-motivation and adaptability skillsAbility to work well with Suppliers, Peers, Management, and Cross-Functional DepartmentsProficient with MS Office Suite; Proficient with CAD ToolsProficient with Advanced Modeling and Data Analysis ToolsCarrier is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
