Full Job Description JOB
The NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), in collaboration with its partners, protects the health and safety of all North Carolinians and provides essential human services. The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct service coordination for children in the NC Infant-Toddler Program and to provide supports to their families/caregivers. Service coordination is a critical service that is helpful for families/caregivers and it is also required by the federal law, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Services provided through the NC ITP must be compliant with the IDEA, federal regulations, and State policies and procedures. This position as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator for children, birth to three, is located within the catchment area of the Sandhills Children's Developmental Services Agency (CDSA).Duties include-Working with families and providers to develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs),Work with multi-disciplinary teams to determine families’ needs for supports and services,Conduct home visits, coordinate, and facilitate services to transition planning,Participate in the authorization and monitoring of early intervention services. Position: 60040593/21-04521 About the Early Intervention SectionThe North Carolina Early Intervention Section (NCEI) is the lead agency for the N.C. Infant-Toddler Program (ITP), which provides supports and services for families and their children, birth to three who have developmental delays and/or disabilities. Research shows that birth to three is a critical time frame for working with families to support their competence and confidence as their child’s best teacher because of what we know about brain development. This early learning offers a window of opportunity to make a positive difference in how a child develops and learns. The Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs), the local lead agencies that implement the ITP across North Carolina, work with local service providers to help families help their children succeed.

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all the following: Please refer to the link below for additional information: https://oshr.nc.gov/work-nc/how-do-i-get-job • Experience working with children in the age range 0 – 5 and their families, including children with developmental delays. • Experience working with and collaborating with families, community organizations, and other agencies.• Experience in young child development.Management Prefers Candidate with the following • Knowledge of coaching interaction styles and adult learning principles.• Experience working with infants, toddlers and their families using research-informed and/or evidence-based practices for the provision of early intervention services.• Experience developing treatment and/or outcomes-based plans, setting goals, planning, writing and measuring outcomes for children and their families.• Good written and oral communication skills• Attention to detail and the ability to manage time independently.• Fluency in a second language. Physical Requirements • Must be able to drive and travel by car across the CDSA’s defined catchment area.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education, Psychology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience working with the population servedORBachelor's degree in human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of professional experience working with the population served OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
