This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits .

This position is located at Piedmont Correctional Institution Rowan County, NC. Piedmont Correctional Institution is a medium/minimum custody male facility.
Position performs journey duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air, gas, water, and waste disposal systems.
Routine work assignments are in the nature of location of needed repair, and assignments involving work of special or unusual nature are accompanied by specific instructions.
The incumbent exercises considerable independence in performance of routine work, but unprecedented assignments are usually discussed with or supervised by a foreman.
Work is reviewed by foreman through inspection of work in progress and on the basis of satisfactory operation of equipment repaired or installed.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
Working knowledge of the methods of installation and repair of plumbing systems.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the repair, replacement or construction of piping systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Based on the nature of work performed, may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.
