This position supervises and coordinates activities of Direct Support employees and manages operations, staffing and budget of 1-3 ICF/IDD facility/facilities assigned. Job ResponsibilitiesIn this entry level manager role, the Residential Team Leader is responsible for interviewing and hiring Direct Support, delegating work activities, preparing employee schedules and ensuring that there is adequate staffing coverage at all times.You will also perform all personal care duties that Direct Support perform, such as personal hygiene tasks, meal preparation and goal implementation.Additional responsibilities of the Residential Team Leader include:Supervises and coordinates activities of Direct Support employees and manages operations, staffing and budget of 1-3 ICF/IDD facility/facilities assigned. Spending adequate amounts of time in the residential facility monitoring and providing feedback to staff on all three shifts in interactions and relationships with people supported, maintaining harmony between employees clients while serving as a positive role model. Seek to understand the individuals in the context of their personal history, their social and family networks, and their hopes and dreams for the future.Resolving employee issues and conducting performance reviewsEnsuring that employees meet training requirements and attend required eventsMonitoring select budget items and staying within guidelinesMonitoring and providing feedback to employees during all three shifts in interactions and relationships with the people supportedProviding after-hours and on-call coverage as part of the direct care rotationEnsures that people supported have a clean and maintained home and yard.RequirementsThe ideal candidate for this entry level position are patient, compassionate, nurturing and have a calming demeanor in times of stress.Successful candidates for the Group Home Program Manager role are able to perform the physical components of the role including being able to lift and move up to 50lbs., are comfortable working in stressful situations, and are able to handle difficult situations with ease.Additional requirements for this entry level manager role include:High School degree or GED required; college courses in Human Services, Social Work or Management, preferred1 year of experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesValid drivers’ license and automotive insuranceFlexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as neededAbility to lift between 20 and 50 lbs. and provide CPR after certificationAbility to pass background check and drug screenCPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification, a plusMust be qualified as a Habilitation Technician II (med certified) or eligible to be so designated at the first available training after accepting the position.
