Job Overview
To assist and support the Senior Safety Engineer in all aspects of safety at Cleveland, NC with a specific focus on Ergonomics. Support daily operations and assist in program development and improvements associated with Safety and Training relating to production and strategic operations.
Responsibilities
• Provide technical and administrative support to plant level safety/training, including but not limited to the Skills Training Database, Enablon and BEST system.
• Provide training on required topics, including new employee orientation, basic plant level certifications, and updated/new regulatory programs
• Maintain all daily/weekly plant level safety data charts and retention records. Assist team members with near-miss/job analysis and minor accident investigations.
• Support all safety policies, programs, practices, and initiatives as outlined.
• Assist in updating plant policies, programs, and procedures related to safety engineering and industrial hygiene.
• Ensure compliance with requirements by government agencies and corporate policies.
• Conduct plant safety and health audits. Identify areas for improvement and initiate corrective action.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by Sr. Safety Engineer.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills Experience)
• Bachelors Degree from an accredited university/college required OR Associates Degree and 4years of relevant experience in lieu of degree required
• BS in Safety Science, Environmental Health, or Associate Degree in RelatedField of study
• Experience in safety and health in manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work with limited direction and be able to make critical decision in complex situations.
• Working knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory requirements, Especially OSHA, Workers Compensation, HIPAA and EPA

Typical Minimum Experience Preferred (Desired Skills/Experience)
• 2-4 years of relevant expeirence preferred Experience working in unionized environment including contract negotiations.
• HAZWOPER, DOT and/or RCRA training and experience with spill response
