Full Job Description #1: Infant classroom: Two teachers in this room with up to 8 infants. Teacher to student ration is 1:4. Hours are 12:00pm-6:00pm (30 hrs./wk.).
#2: One-year-old classroom: Two teachers are in this room with up to 10 children. Teacher to student ratio is 1:6. Hours are 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm (25 hrs./wk.).
#3: One-year-old classroom: Two teachers are in this room with up to 10 children. Teacher to student ratio is 1:6. Hours are 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm (30 hrs./wk.).
#4: Three-year-old classroom: One teacher is in the room with up to 10 children. Teacher to student ratio is 1:10. Hours are 12:30 pm - 6:00 pm (27.5 hrs./wk.).
Position summary: Afternoon teachers will work in tandem with the classroom lead teachers to facilitate activities and care for the children. These positions include the coordination and implementation of all classroom activities and safety guidelines according to National Lutheran Schools Accreditation and Bright from the Start. Trinity Lutheran Academy is a Christian preschool. A background check will be required.
Experience: Prior group childcare experience is recommended, but not required.
Skills/Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults. Ability to have healthy, positive working adult relationships. Competent in using positive guidance in responding to behavioral challenges and the ability to model and teach social skills.
Physical expectations: sitting, squatting, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs. Reliable transportation to and from work.

Job type: Part-time
Schedule: Monday - Friday. Administration reserves the right to move teachers around where they feel the teacher's skills will best be applied, working hours will not be affected unless it's a change from afternoon to morning shift.
Pay: Starting at $10.00/hr., commensurate with experience and education.
Benefits: retirement and disability after one year of employment. There is a possibility to acquire more hours working as a substitute during the shift opposite your scheduled hours.
This job will require 12 hrs. of paid orientation and training prior to being placed in the classroom.
