Reporting to the Digital Engagement Product Line lead, the Solution Architect is responsible for guiding and architecting digital website, portal, and mobile app solutions for our Company's commercial sales and marketing group. The Solution Architect is the global technical thought leader for the Digital Engagement product line.
As a digital engagement expert, you will be partnering directly with marketing leads, data analysts and other members of the Business Technology organization to deliver business value.
The Solution Architect should be experienced in developing and maintaining sites/functionality in Web Content Management solutions such as WordPress (multisite, VIP Go). This role is responsible for guiding and architecting back-end integration and front-end web and mobile capabilities, including guiding development of Headless CMS architecture. The Solution Architect will assist in managing Business partners, Agencies and Global support team. Also, the ability to identify opportunities to improve services, contribute ideas to design and coding best practices, identify and assess innovative technologies, and liaison between business and technical teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Meeting with clients to discuss website and mobile apps design and function.
• Architect high-performance and high-availability web and mobile applications.
• Manage all technical aspects of the webContent Management Systems(CMS) and mobile development.
• Provide estimates for technical work effort for backlog items.
• Lead proof of concept/prototype efforts.
• High level of communication between business owners, agency partners and Business Technology teams.
• Ability to manage and juggle multiple projects at once working cross-functionally across business and Business Technology teams.
• Keep abreast of latest developments in online digital and mobile technologies and features to drive innovation and use on the platform.
Education Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Required Experience and Skills:
• 5+ years experience in Web and Mobile Development, 3+ years experience in a Web CMS environment.
• In-depth knowledge of WordPress (multisite, setup and configuration, parent/child themes, plugins, Gutenberg, roles and permissions, etc.). Experience with Adobe Experience Cloud, SiteCore or similar will be considered.
• Experience in platform agnostic mobile application development React Native / Xamarin and mobile web development.
• Extensive experience with a combination of programming skills (namely Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), Hypertext Markup Language Version 5 (HTML5), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
• Ability to apply expert level PHP knowledge to regular and advanced WordPress development challenges including themes, plugins, Gutenberg blocks and real-time integration patterns.
• Fluent with JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, React, or similar.
• Comfortable developing outside of any CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.)
• A solid understanding of and commitment to web standards, including web accessibility standards .
• Familiar with important security concepts which enables you to setup secure WordPress/CMS environments and develop websites where security is a focus area.
• Well-versed with SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL databases, CSS pre-processors, and release and update processes that involveGit version control, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools.
• Experience interacting with RESTful Application Programming Interface (APIs).
• Experience in Conducting website performance tests and monitoring tools.
• Understand design, User Interface (UI), and User Experience (UX) concepts, and can translate these concepts to technical implementations.
• Practical understanding of web analytics is desired.
• Experience optimizing sites for performance.
• Experience in working with agile teams.SAFe Certification is desirable.
