What you will be doing:
This position is responsible for project supervision on several or one small, medium or large size project. Provides overall leadership in managing and driving all schedule related activities, relationship building with AHJs, and technical expertise required for successful delivery of a project. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or as necessary
• Responsible for leading, managing, organizing, and coordinating Superintendents that are direct reports and facilitate appropriate action between multiple members of project team and other members of operations team or teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Communicates clearly and reinforces True North Mission, Values and Vision
• Responsible for promoting and enforcing safety to all project team members, trade partners,owners, designers, the public and anyone that come in contact with our projects.
• Experience with all facets of site work, city sewer tie in systems, large scale warehouse construction, ground up construction •
• Responsible for providing the field staff with necessary means to enforce all company safety guidelines that go above and beyond OSHA standards.
• Responsible for setting the “Zero Tolerance Safety Standard” example to the entire project team.
• Responsible for fast-track schedule development and maintenance and understanding of the status of all key components on daily basis. Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, government officials, other contractors, etc.
• Supervises and/or manages direct reports, subcontractors, and/or suppliers on a Project,monitoring performance and providing feedback. This includes clearly understanding internal lines
• of reporting and all line manager / direct report relationships and respecting them accordingly.
• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers,suppliers, employees). Maintain relationships with all stakeholders to ensure needs are met and
• problems/conflicts are resolved.
• Clearly understands all facets of the assigned Project (s) working closely with Project Manager and other team members to clearly understand how the Project was estimated including the
• overall project schedule, basis of estimate, labor and resource constraints, job cost allocation, subcontract awards, purchase orders and overall scope of work and specifications for a Project including all inclusions and exclusions, and value engineering options if any Work closely with local inspection departments to develop a good working relationship and
• understand any and all local requirements that may impact the successful delivery of a project
• Communicate and give clear direction and leadership to project team, including subcontractors,vendors, owners, architects, etc.
• Communicate and develop information for management in authorizing and/or approving project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control and may provide direction of project administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.
• Assist in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
• Ensure compliance with established procedures.
• Follow, implement and enforce safety policies, (i.e. job safety meetings, proper use of safety equipment, compliance by subs/suppliers. etc.)
• Supervise salaried employees as needed, craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
• Provide technical assistance, (i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc.) as required.
• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees).
• Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.
• Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, mission and values
• Must be willing to travel if required.
Experience you will need:
• 10+ years' experience in commercial real estate construction
• OSHA Qualified 10, 30
• Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University and minimum of 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Able to perform hands-on work with limited time at a desk
• Attention to detail and a self-starter will be a requirement
• Able to handle a wide variety of obligations during any given day
• Must be willing to travel, work after hours, and nights/weekends
• Great people skills and a positive attitude will also be an attribute of the perfect candidate
